I had my 9262 for 2 and a half years now and I loved everything from it, but recently it started having problems with the video card, either the screen went black or it started blinking or it froze and some green squares appeared on the screen, so I had it repaired from a lap top place over here, I was told it was the videocard core that because of the heat the paste melted and the chip had do be heated and pressed back on its place, but it was only a matter of weeks since it failed again, so it went on a weekly basis fail/repair cycle for about 2 months, then it worked perfectly fine but I couldnt play any games and I noticed that the video card drivers were not installed but when I install them It fails again,I must admit that I was a bit imprudent about the heat since I live in Cancun Mexico and the temperature gets really warm down here but I wasnt aware that that could happen, so recently I contacted Xoticpc to request an RMA for repair, but do you think there's still hope for my video card or should I start thinking about geting a new one?![]()

What are the specs on the machine? 9800 GTX is the card in question, correct? It sounds like you may be getting some of the issues that plagued the 8xxx series (the 9xxx is a rebadged lineup with bumped speeds). It's entirely possible that a video card replacement would be necessary. Based on the artifacting symptoms + high heat, the card does sound like it's dying out. If you're still covered under warranty, then it's nothing to worry about and your reseller should have you taken care of.
What kind of temperatures were you hitting under load? Did you run any monitoring programs to find out? -
Well I'm still covered by labor warranty but not by parts warranty so I guess I need to wait and see what the reseller has got to say
I did monitored the temperature at first but since it seemed lite a weekly rutine It didn't made sense to me to keep monitoring

Oh and yes its a 9800GTX

Contact our Service Department at [email protected] and they will help you get a RMA set up and we can get this evaluated for you. Since your machine is Sager Branded this will all get done quickly for you
Once it is tested and evaluated we will report back what problems were found. Obviously with your Labor Warranty we cover all Labor and you would only be responsible for parts if any parts have went bad. -
Yes I did that just waiting for their response, thanks
