Is there any reason to go above 8GB on the NP9171?

I'm not an architect or an animator.

I am using this for music production and games.

    Thanks

If your budget allows it, sure! Otherwise, I suggest you stick to 8GB for now... If at all you think you require more RAM later on, it'd be a dirt cheap after market upgrade. :)

Agree with Prasad. You wouldn't gain too much from upgrading the RAM any more, so it probably wouldn't be worth spending a lot of money on right now.

On your current computer start up all the stuff you plan to do then open up task manager to see how much RAM you're currently using. Most people never top 4GB.
