Is there any other Express Card out there for the laptop? I am sick of tired using the Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio notebook I think that this product is one of the worst from Creative. Is there other brand out there that use Express Card for sound card I can't find any. Please help out what about USB sound card that support EAX 4.0 or 5.0 any one?

Are you having problems with your realtech soundcard onboard? I haven't had any issues with mine personally. Turtle beach might have one. But you might want to go back to the Audigy Zs PCMCIA card if your using Win XP.

I have an Audigy Zs that I could trade?? It is PCMCIA which I can't use it worked ok for me but it had a problem with my Toshiba and the wifi card. Other than that it worked well. Creative also makes a usb version of this and it worked better in my case unfortunately it was packed when we moved and I couldn't find it when I was back the last time.

Hi kl6167 I would trade with you but I don't have any laptop that use PCMICA I hope that the Sager NP9261 use the PCMICA instead of the new standard.

why need another sound card? are you connecting it to a 6-7 channel digital receiver?

The on-board one is actually good with EAX 4.0.... you just need to optimize it for better sound quality.

    - Open Realtek Software
    - Set the Environment option to Carpeted Hallway. And if you want even more quality, set the Equalizer to Soft (as in Soft Rock)

Personally, I have an external sound card (USB M-Audio Transit) if I want top-notch audio quality (over crappy consumer level audio cards).... I sometimes do audio mixing. :)

But I mainly use the on-board audio for everything... its pretty good to me.

Hi, gophn I have 5.1 speakers and when I use the onboard it does not work. How do you get EAX 4.0 to work on the on-board. I have F.E.A.R. it not letting me use the EAX. I am also on Windows XP.

if you have 5.1 (6 channel), go to RealTek, and set the audio-output settings to 6 Channels to use 3 x 3.5mm plugs for the speakers
    - one for Front
    - one for Rear
    - one for Sub

If you have SPDIF, its better since all you need is a 3.5mm to RCA cable to use it.

How/which connectors do you use for this? It sounds like what I want to do. If I get a chance I will read back through the manuals again.

I looked when I first got it, but from memory it didn't say anything about it. I know it was advertised that way though.

OK Gophn, I got the beast in front of me now. I know I can set 5.1 in the RealTek software. But now I want to connect my 5.1 headphones to the laptop where do they plug in at?

do your headphones use three 3.5mm plugs, or has one plug (for optical or SPDIF)?

Gophn, You are my Hero! I got it figured out. I didn't really see anything but I just played with the plugs until I got it right. I don't know why I didn't try that myself! Thanks now I have another 100$ to spend on the 8800 when I am ready!

Just in case anyone is wondering I used the head phone jack, mic, and line in jack for the 5.1 surround. I didn't see anything in the manual that tells you how to do this but the RealTek software will ask you how you want to use the jacks.

It was it would have been even easier had the manual said something about the extra features. :)
