Hi all, just got my new laptop today. But I found an area which looks white above the task-bar on the bottom left corner. Does all 9150 95% matte are like this or its just me. Thanks all

No, that definitely looks defective. Set up an RMA process with your reseller and get a new machine. You shouldn't pay for the shipping or anything since they sent you a defective product.

(Wait for a few more responses here on NBR before deciding what to do).

I agree, that looks like a bad screen. Contact your reseller to set up an RMA.

My reseller refused to pay shipping for both ways since im in Hong Kong, Is this a valid reason? I have asked my reseller to cover the shipment for a new screen and i will replace by myself and send the old one back, and they said NO! I am now a very unhappy customer and may some1 teach me what to do next. Many thx

which country did you buy your lappy from.
for example if you bought from america and then moved to hong kong then i think you are normally covered by warranty but sadly not shipping and insurance.
    who was your reseller.

This is my reseller just send me: "Go ask every US company if you receive a laptop and there is an issue, will they pay shipping both ways to HK and back to fix it. Then ask them if they would even pay shipping one way. I don't know any US company who would do this unless their warranty specified they cover international shipping under warranty."
thats what i did in reply: "It is not my fault to receive a defective screen at the first day. all im asking is send me a new screen i will replace myself and send you the old one back but you refused. I will bring this issue to a discussion and see what others say first."

This is not a dead pixel, can u all see the photo i have posted, this is so obvious the screen is defective and they accused it might happen during the shipment. I would rather consider this is a Quality Control issue.

If they are going to be difficult, I would just use your 30 day money back guarantee and take your business elsewhere.

and i ask again "who was your reseller"

i would do what afitzwater says and send it back to them for a full refund.

send it one way so it would only cost half that. i would rather lose that than end up with a duf lappy that keeps going wrong and a reseller that doesnt want to help

First thing, it is very unlikely that your reseller installed your screen, and therefore Sager installed and shipped it.

I know for a fact that Sager would never have shipped a screen in this condition. This means that the screen was damaged during shipment and you must file a claim with your shipping company.

Second, your reseller is correct, there are no companies that will pay for shipping outside the US. This is one of the hazards of purchasing a computer (especially one without a global warranty) outside of your home country, and most resellers will advise you of this before your purchase. The fact is, REPAIRS ARE ONLY DONE WITHIN THE US, and that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING SHIPPING BOTH WAYS.

I hate to say it, but you'll have to pay for shipping. Try and have them ship you just the screen to save you some money.

I believe you're the rep I talked to over the phone when I first placed my order. I also have a screen problem (it's a stuck pixel right at the center of my screen) as well as already having 5 separate instances of bsods. I'm looking to return/exchange with Xotic could I PM you (though I'm not sure how as I can't see any PM options)?
