(in the title, I meant "stuck")

Today I noticed a red pixel on my desktop that didn't seem in place. I tried moving a Ccleaner window over it and noticed that the pixel would switch between dark red and white as I moved the window, even over the same dark grey color. I tried using UndeadPixel and in the dead pixel locator I could barely even see the stuck/dead pixel, if at all. The undead pixel process that let's you choose a section of pixels to flash colors over didn't work to get rid of the red pixel that I was seeing on the desktop and in other programs. The pixel is always visible while playing minecraft.

It seems the pixel may be "half" functional, meaning it tries to work or something like that. On a white background in Chrome, I can see the dark red pixel, but on the white full screen background generated by UndeadPixel, the stuck pixel changes to a brighter color, making it very hard to see or even invisible. On some black backgrounds I don't see the pixel while on others I see a green pixel over the background. I don't know whether this is really a stuck pixel or a problem with Windows. Any ideas?

That sounds like a pixel issue, as a pixel is made up of 3 sub pixels (R G B), sounds like one of the sub-pixels has burned out or gotten stuck on. Doesn't sound like a OS issue, one way to check is to boot it up in the BIOS setup screen and check it for an issue, if its there too then yea its the screen not the OS.

    thanks!

Have you already tried massaging it or applying heat? Not a guaranteed fix, but it would beat sending it out for repair.

I tried using pressure, but not yet heat.

Is one pixel even covered under warranty? And would repairs happen at Sager or powernotebooks?

Typically no. So if you sent it in and it was indeed considered out of warranty, then you'd be looking at paying out of pocket for parts and maybe labor. Shipping cost is speculative; sometimes a reseller/manufacturer will work with you on it, and sometimes it's no deal.

Sager most likely. If the screen needs replaced especially, as they would have the part in house. Contact your reseller though just to make sure. We do work for Asus and MSI from time to time when a customer has a difficult time getting a case set up with them, but when a part needs replaced, it adds to the downtime, as we need to order it from the respective OEM.

If in the middle a single could be covered. How they determine middle is make a tic-tac-toe board on the screen and if in the middle it may be covered. Contact your reseller about it if so.
