ive got the 9800GT in my M860TU and so do a lot of other people.
its the GTX card that is not available due to the thermal budget (look at the stiky at top of sager page)
the 9800GT is now being replaced by the fracionally lower spec 9800GTS card. some suppliers still have the GT in stock but when they are gone there gone and the only option will be the GTS

i think (not sure) that the quad core is not available in it. could be a mistake on the website.
we will soon get told if i am wrong about this :)

The QX9300 and Q9100 should both work in this laptop.

Thanks for the correction on the GPU.

However, my main concern is the QX9300..

Are you sure ? There is a very long sticky at the top of this forum that says otherwise..

Well, I probably should have said "The QX9300 and Q9100 should both theoretically work in this laptop". With a BIOS update and correct cooling it could be done, but I have yet to see it happen. However, it's possible that AVA Direct got it to work and are selling stable systems with these processors.

    "OCZ, 250GB Core Series V2 SSD, 170/98 MB/s, 2.5-Inch, SATA 3 Gb/s, Retail"

This is the only spec I want from that list!

The question is about the QX9300 though, not the X9100..

The quads do not currently work with the m570tu due to incompatibilities, so I would doubt if they would work in the m860tu

Don't the QCs have a different pinout. So won't they need a different socket/MoBo ?

Just to confirm the M860TU does not support the QX9300. AVADirect are gonna remove it now..

It doesn't ? Eurocom seems to allow for that configuration ?

I believe this is sort of correct, it is the same socket, but needs a different revision, so a mobo upgrade is required. Roll on the 5797 (M570TU-U)
