Planning on ordering the NP5175. I had a few questions on customization though.

    1. Thermal compound Y/N?

    2. Is 4gb of ram going to be enough? I won't be playing the most modern games so I contemplating leaving the ram option stock.

there's probably a dozen threads on here asking about if the thermal compound is worth it.. click through a few pages and i'm sure you'll find your answer

4gb is probably fine. if it turns out you need more, it's going to be cheaper to just put it in yourself anyways. and putting your own ram in is really easy anyways

edit: here's a few of the recent ones that have thermal compound specifically in the title. there are many more where it was just brought up

For me, I always do the thermal compound upgrade. In models such as this it may only be a slight change to the temperature, but no matter how slight I always feel that is a good thing in the long run.

As for the RAM, the 4 GB should be enough for most games since most won't need to utilize more. The Sagers are pretty user upgradeable, so upgrading later isn't out of the question as Hizzaah noted.
