Well, I thought from people talking on the forums that the driver installed on this laptop was 12.5 from Clevo. Looks like mine is something like 8.981.2.0. Problem is, when I try to install the display driver from the disk provided, it gets about halfway through, then the screen turns black except a small blinking _ in the top left corner. I've waited for two minutes at that screen a couple times and nothing happens.

I tried to completely uninstall all AMD/ATI drivers beforehand (AMD's website advised to do that), then install, but the same thing happened, so I ended up having to do a system restore.

Hopefully I don't have the same kind of problem that micah (or whatever his name is) had, because I'm pretty sure he ended up having to RMA it.

Did anyone else have this specific problem and know a fix for it? Honestly, the way the games I play run, even with this older driver, it works just fine, but I'm worried I'll never actually be able to update the driver if I can't even install the Clevo drivers.

Not used to troubleshooting AMD cards at all. Never owned one before =/. Anyone know something I should try, aside from a clean windows install? I've already installed a ton of programs on this machine and it would be a pain to redo all that.

EDIT: NEVERMIND! Apparently 8.981.2.0 IS the 12.7 driver... kind of feel stupid now. Sager must have installed this driver on my laptop when it was released, but that still doesn't explain why hitting "update driver" in the device manager gives a BSOD. Wouldn't the regular response be "Your current driver version is already up to date" or something? Still worries me... hopefully this doesn't turn out to be an issue in the future.

Hm.. I think Meaker or someone else said not to run Driver sweeper because it messes with Enduro. I'll wait and see if others with this problem have used driver sweeper to solve it or if there's something else I can try before I do that.

    Thanks tho =p.

Yep... if I tried to manually update to current drivers from device manager, I get a BSOD.

Ugh... I was hoping I was one of the lucky ones. Apparently not.

The 12.7 drivers are beta right now, so they are not officially signed. The Windows driver update thing won't give you beta drivers, so it was trying to downgrade you to 12.6 probably.

I did RMA mine just 2 days ago . They are sending a replacement next week. It better work because I could really use it at work.

Yours isn't like mine was though, I couldn't get stock drivers to run even. It was awful and definitely a hardware error.
