I had to send my 9262 in to Sager after having it a week for an issue with the display. They changed the inverter and that fixed the screen issue, but when they had my notebook they updated the BIOS to .13 I believe it was (sorry at work and don't have the notebook with me). Now this wouldn't have been a problem except now my CPU fsb is 333 x6 which is 1998Mhz (this is the E6850 which should be 333 x9, 2997Mhz). The big problem here is that I can't adjust the multiplier in the BIOS since they lock it. So what do I need to do to get this back to where it should be?

that sux.
get ahold of .12 and flash it back to your bios.
I made a bios backup of my .12 just in case something like this happened.
I don't know if its a good backup or not. -
Thanks dexgo, I'll see if I can find .12 if not I may be asking you for it if you don't mind.
I also need to check a bit farther into this. After looking at the Windows system info it shows the right speed 333 x9 3000Mhz but looking at the info in Everest with CPUID it shows 332 x6 1995Mhz. I'll run some benchmarks and compair them. It may just be that CPUID is showing it wrong for some reason.
EDIT: OK I just got this from the Sager techs, wth is it suppopsed to mean? This isn't my first notebook and while the last one gave me to option to turn what I believe the tech is refering to as throttling off in the BIOS this notebook doesn't give that option. I don't want it to throttle down, ever. Anyway, below is the message from tech support.
Hi Greg, the CPU clock is not fixed. It varies with the loading. If the CPU is processing heavy task, the CPU clock is running at 2994MHz and the multiplier factor is 9.
You can run any CPU burn-in software to see that.

There should be an option to disable it in the BIOS
I can't think of a reason why you would want to disable it, as it saves energy.
Not that i'm a believer in global warming or anything -

he's right I miss my m1710's bios soo much.
it's so basic! i'm serious basic.....
like you can change the boot order and put a password on it.
that's pretty much all you can do.. -
Stroxuss, sorry this is OT, but what screen issue did you have? I'm having one too ( see here), and wondering if your inverter fix would remedy this?

Would someone post the system prior BIOS version 1.00.11 (dated on Jan. 08)?
Thanks! -
here is a link that can explain what is happening.

So your processor is downclocked only when you are not using it (for keeping at cool as possible) and goes back when the power is needed. -
But the problem I was having with the screen was shimmering on the second from the highest brightness setting and there was a bright light bar (almost looked like light bleeding through) the center of the screen vertically all the time. -

I like to install one OS on a drive, take it out and install another on a different drive put them all back in and when I'm done just use the BIOS to change between the different OS's by telling it what drive to boot from first. I hate having to use Windows boot loader for dual booting just in case one OS gets blown out from my tweaking with. Having to reinstall XP when Vista is already on there is a pain since then I have to repair Vista afterwards.
Oh well, the price we pay for having sweet portable gaming.
