Have you tried uninstall the audio driver via device manager (including ticking the delete driver software) and then downloading and installing the sound driver and sound blaster manually?

Make sure you've installed the Realtek driver that was original with the laptop before installing SBX. A lot of times with Creative MB software it can get tied to the Realtek driver release, so updating to the current Realtek generic release isn't recommended.

Yeah, I've always done that. I've never installed a generic driver in place of the one issued by a Clevo partner.

The bug seems to be an issue with the InstallShield Engine installer on my machine.

Update: All ISS installers crash on my machine.

No known fix (yet), still working on it.

tried pointing directly to the drivers (where your extracted realtek folder is, bunch of .inf files are there) via device manager?

This has nothing to do with the realtek driver, its' already installed.

My issue is with the SBX Pro package.

Have you already ran the usual Windows file integrity checks? (e.g. sfc /scannow)
