Already?
Thanks for the news! The prices are really interesting to see.
-
WOW! red marked "WASD" key
-
Nice to see SB popping up, but I'm waiting for the new GPUs to go along with it.
-
Redesign of the W860CU or is it a different existing model?
They stole the red WASD keys from MSI....too bad they didn't steal the numpad too. -
I hadn't heard of the 485m before now.
-
You likely won't ever see one. GTX 485M will end up being the GTX 580M instead.
-
I'm planning to buy a w860 after sandy bridge is released globally (xoticpc to be specific). I want to ask though what new GPUs are you talking about?
-
Probably the 580M and the 6900M series.
-
Fix'd.

Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
This one comes with GTX485
Google Translate
-
You also used to see Clevos listed with a GTX 380M.

You don't think there'll be a 580M?

Nice find, a sandy bridge with a 485 gpu would definitely gets my individed attention! -
They used to have similar spec sheets that listed a GTX 380m on some Clevo machines. GPU names that are commonly used behind closed doors don't always get released under those names.
There will be a GTX580m, just not in a 15.6" notebook. It's likely another 100w GPU. -
Sound stupid but... what is sandy bridge exactly ?
-
The code name for Intel's upcoming CPU platform. It's supposed to be the successor to the iX series.
-
lol, italian noobs
the clevo p150hm don't support 1600 rams ...(the cpu supports it but the mainboard works with 1333)
and why the hell they don't offer the 2630QM ?
-
These:
Plus an i7-2630QM @ 2Ghz. -
Look awesome ! thanks Phinagle
-
I gotta say I'm really liking the uncomplicated design. If the x8100 get's a similar treatment I may get over my disdain for the Clevo keypad.
As a barebones it's kinda like a blank canvas for resellers to add their own look....kinda like how AW did back in the day, or even the stuff KillerNotebooks used to do. -
Just noticed that it has a different hinge, compared to the W860CU. In fact, I hadn't realized it's an entirely new machine, until I looked at them side by side.
I'm hoping there's a new 17" with similar aesthetic changes.
edit:
Nice looking machine right there. I wonder what the Clevo designation # will be. -
8-cell 77Wh battery is also a nice upgrade.
-
Oh nice, I missed that. Hopefully Clevo can get back to 2hr+ of battery life on the high end machines.
CES just got more interesting. -
this paired with the sb cpu/igp is as perfect a laptop at our present tech.
so stoked, im getting this if it does come out with decent benches and pricing. -
Its awesome news!
Better CPUs (more performance even for base models)
Better Screens (250 and 300nits)
More RAM slots (four slots = cheap 8GB RAM)
Better GPUs (GTX 485M, 580M and HD 69xx definitely to come)
Better Battery (current model lasts only 50mins, this atleast 120 mins)
Design is (seems like nobody here has noticed) just smaller W870CU.
Its 99% 15.6" version of current W870CU model, I did not really liked the palmrest though.
I love to see 2x USB 3.0 and especially this Universale 150/180W AC adapter statement.
Today I also read about MiniPCIe SSDs from intel. Same speed as X25-M series but only 1/8 of size compared to 2.5" version. Now we have perfect 15.6" laptop with highest performance at the market, long battery life, ALUMINIUM chasis and two hard disk drives (Mini PCIe SSD + HDD...something like this Samsung mini-PCIe SSD: up to 64GB of super-compact storage - SlashGear )
One time! ( am I dreaming?) -

I don't like the marked WASD keys on my MSi, but clevo made it more subtle, better IMO. -
There are less than a handful of full-spec notebooks that support mini-PCIe SSDs. The mini-PCIe slot requires a connection to a SATA controller.
-
Clevo supports Intel Robson memory via Mini PCIe slot so I suppose at least CLEVO users are ready for it
I was talking about this news here at NBR http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=5993 -

Intel Robson memory does not work over sata, so it's not the same.
It wont work unless the notebook was specifically designed to use them.
This is very important:
-
4 ram slots are good, though 4gb rams are so cheap right now there is virtually no difference in price between 4x2gb and 2x4gb rams, just bought 2x4gb 1333mhz ram kit for about 100 USD from amazon. Though you can get 4x4gb if you want.
It's aluminum chasis? It would be great if it's true, but don't see any signs of aluminum in the pictures. -
Likely a plastic shell with an aluminum internal structure.
-
Italian website does not specify what is actually made from alluminium
-
Hmm interesting, RU saying this next gen W860CU will NOT support mini-PCIe SSD?
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
No, I'm saying that it might not.
It could go either way. -
Yep. Looks like what the W860CU should have been. I'm sold. Don't forget non-glare screen (though this might be EU only)
Edit: *Starts annoying RJTech with emails -
They should've changed the palmrest though, I don't particularly like the palmrest as well, they should either change it to metallic palmrest, or super rough surface palmrest like alienware. The smooth plastic palmrest they have now just sticks up all the oil and dirt on your palm.
-
so when do you think xotic or prostar will start showing the new clevo design with SB?
-
My thoughts exactly.
-
After CES, which is goes from January 6th-9th, expect preorders to begin.
-
Im pretty excited about that. Im new to gaming laptops and was about to get a clevo 8690 but i think ill wait now see how much the price changes and see if they release the new 15" notebook. Does anyone know what the new 15" high end gpu will be?
-
hmmm... well the diffrence as i see it is the extra USB 3.0 and there will be a new motherboard since now its support 16gb ram 0_0 its seems like the RoG's hardware, hmm.. what else ?? oh the new SB IS SOOO F^@%ing expensive !!!!!!
the best one is 1250 euro extra to the besic one !!!!
im sooo happy i bought the I's series
oh and it seems the dont support the 470m yet (i mean the 570m xD) and the new desigen look slick and kind of well made
oh and it have blutooth 3.0 ???? i never heard of it i only know about the normal one 2.1 somthin its scary how tech goes so fast
-
That basic SB quad listed is faster @stock than the $1100USD i7-940xm.
-
Here's a possibility...
If a GTX 485M shows up in this 15.6" notebook it will be a short run of a GF104 based 75W card not much faster than GTX 480M but definitely more efficient. You know, the card some of us speculated would happen back in June.
Then after the respin to GF114, GTX 485M becomes the GTX 570M, GTX 470M becomes the GTX 560M, GTX 460M becomes the GT 555M, and GTX 580M is a 85W-100W card. -
Does anyone know the pricing on these new gpu's yet? Or when they will be announced?
-
No one, who isn't under NDA, can tell you anything.
A week from today you'll know as much as the rest of us. -
Hmmm, is it possible to return my current machine for a refurbished one ?
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
I have to correct myself here, I don't know what the intel robson memory works with...
