I've been in new laptop hell for almost 3 months now. Initially I bought an Alienware 17 R3 but I didn't get on with it so that went back to the seller for a refund (eventually). I then ordered a P775DM1-G with 6700k and the "Desktop" 980. After a few days it turned out the chassis wasn't in stock so it was going to be the end of this month before I got it (ordered on the 6th). I decided I wasn't up for paying credit card interest for something that I didn't have.... so I cancelled.

This left with time to look, search, ponder and now I'm really struggling as I REALLY want the 1080(m). I've seen a picture of what's said to be the P775DM2-G which has me drooling at the prospect of what's in it. However, I want my new laptop yesterday, as is always the case.

Going from the leaked benchmarks the 1080m beats the 980 desktop so it makes me wonder if the DM2 will "just" have the 1080m or whether it'll be getting a laptop version of the full 1080. Regardless, with the 120hz GSync screen it's going to be something to behold.

I find myself losing hours searching the internet daily..... Helllppppppp :D

It looks more and more uncertain about which version the GPU will be, a desktop or a mobile one for the 1080M series... We have to wait and see but just hold on a bit longer.. Everything should be clear in July from the looks of it!

Regardless of what the next generation will have, it is still a powerful system. I hope you enjoy it with it arrives. Congrats!

Induced coma might be an option :D

I have a sneaking suspicion both will be coming out, similar to the 980m vs 980 full. I think we will need to wait a fairly long time for the full 1080 if it ever does appear though. As long as the 1080(m) is MXM I'll be getting it as it's the fastest option and best option for VR.

It's an insane system. Unfortunately I can't afford to pay such a substantial amount of money only for it to be inferior in a matter of weeks. The wait IS killing me though as I just want to hit that button :D

Lol I'll pass on the coma. Also the wait may not be weeks, more likely Q4 2016.

I don't really mind THAT much when the new hardware will physically be arriving.... it's the wait to see what I'm going to do (buy now or wait) that's killing me. I can't make the decision until I know what's actually going to be released.

Once NDAs are lifted, and official info is out there, generally Clevo is one of the quicker manufacturers to have products ready to ship out. So hopefully you won't' have to wait too long after the announcement of new products. But, there is still no dates given at this time.

Indeed..... going by the leaked image of the apparent P775DM2-G they're already ready :D

The big question for me is going to be cost when compared to the current desktop 980 P775DM1-G and out of curiosity whether there is going to be a 1080 laptop model or a 1080m only. I can live with either the mobile or the desktop as it's going to be a monster regardless, I would just like to know what we're getting :)

Ha! I've done that before to make sure it will fit in a certain spot/or bag etc. Also help to visualize how much larger or smaller it is than another laptop on hand.

To help from causing any confusion, all these images are of the one I made rather than the real thing.

To make matters worse..... I made it in work then actually brought it home to compare to my current laptop :D

Now, that is actually a really good idea. Making sure your bag is going to work before hand. Then you don't have a new laptop and a bag that isn't going to work out, and possibly have a gap of time without a proper bag.

Indeed. I'm actually glad I did now as I now know the bag that I have is ideal too.

It's not actually THAT bad with all things considered. My current laptop is 15.6" so gaining almost 2" of screen along with full desktop hardware isn't THAT much of a sacrifice.

I think I'll get along just fine with it. I've also ordered one of these.....

    And one of these.....

In anticipation. Will see what my current laptop can do with a few games on low just to wet my appetite.

I bought the M65 Pro RGB mouse a couple weeks ago. Pretty happy with it's performance so far.

I'm 36 and I've never had a gaming mouse in my life lol. I've never really been much of a gamer but want to give it a proper go. I've never been one to do things by half so why start now :D

The good thing is I've done a bit of homework and given that I have big hands I think the mouse should suit nicely (I would have went with the g402 but I wanted RGB). The even better thing is that I've never used a gaming mouse so I don't really have anything to compare it to, I'm sure I'll think it's the best thing since sliced bread even if it isn't THAT good haha.

It has a good glide to it when moving it around. You can change out the weights on the bottom if you want it heavier or lighter. The mouse clicks are pretty responsive, and have a good feel. You can rebind the keys if you want, change the DPI for sensitivity, and the software isn't too complicated to use for the most part. I'm a sucker for RGB too, so that was a nice touch. I really liked the original m65 that we had, but when I saw with RGB, I was sold.

The combination of RGB and the DPI sniper switch on the side sold me. What a great idea!

It's nice to have a quick DPI toggle for that kind of situation though it might still be a little slow in a fast paced shooter.

It would be interested having a toggle while pressed for right click.

    Timed macros ;)

I have done this in Razer Synapse, on the Deathadder. But not really useful, specially in fast paced and highly competitive games.

The mouse I'm talking about has a single button that instantly drops the DPI to whatever you set it to, when you let go of the button it resets to normal. I can't see how anything would work any better.... Even macros?

Yeah, you can set it for macros, text, keystrokes, short cuts to programs, dpi, and a few others. Pretty handy.

Out of the all of the capabilities in the world you could use it for, mine is set to whatever key it is that melees in overwatch.
