the keys on the touch pad are rather still. and the scroll thing isnt that good. it only works about half the time but i have never had good luck with those.

The screen is tank quality; there's absolutely not a sound from mine, even when I move it back and forth rapidly.

    Is the touchpad a Synaptic?

If so you can adjust the scroll area width (make it wider) and sensitivity. Although that may be general touchpad sensitivity and not specifically the scroll area sensitivity, I forget...

Can you make a video or a few photos, showing the screen with either paused dvd/video file or a photo and how it looks from different angles, both left to right and eh bottom to top.

Like with any lithium ion battery, battery life will get a lot longer after a few charges.

Well duh. It is a 15" gaming laptop after all. What were you expecting, a Thinkpad T60?

No one's going to get this, or any other gaming notebook, for battery life. You'd be barking up the wrong tree.

The mic isnt that great. But no it was not defraging and no eggs lol. Its just air blowing past the mic i think.

The Video doesnt do Silent mode justice.

but at least you can hear generally how loud the space bar is comepared to the rest of the keys.

tomarrow i am going to the store to get a laptop cooler and im gunna pick up Crysis.

Ill try to get fraps and when i get everything ill make another video =P

Thanks for the videos. Asus should learn from Clevo on how to build a nice aesthetically looking gaming laptop. Their G50 is so **** ugly, I don't know why anyone would spend lots of money to lug the orange fugly thing around.

I went the mid low range route and purchased an Asus M50VM-B2. Although, this clevo does look very tempting!

We really do need an official review, I wonder why it's taking Jason so long to review this puppy.

I would try to go for the 320GB 5400rpm... since it will perform just as well as a 7200rpm 200gb drive... but with more storage and less heat. ;)

    Good man!
Now we need you to test some games!
Crysis' demo has a benchmarking tool if I'm not mistaken.

Looking at other benchmarks I can see the difference between 2.5ghz with 2gigs of ram and 2.8ghz with 4gigs of ram is 2000 points.

I went for the 2.4 8600 cpu and I doubt I will see that much of a difference from a 2.53 and who knowns, perhaps Intel will manage to release a quad core that can be used on this one :)

I think its just that the video card pulls the scores up so high that the CPU doesnt even matter. Im sure OCs will start to really make the scores pull away though.

I went with the 2.53 Ghz solely based on the fact that the lower CPU's only had a 3 mb cache, where as the 2.53 was the first with a 6 mb cache. Personlly i think the 6 mb cache is a definate advantage. If the 2.2 had a 6 mb cache i would have saved the money and got that.

Hi, I would like to find out if the windows vista you choose is "locked" on sager laptops? The reason why I ask this is because I have my own windows XP and would do a clear install. If the vista I get from NP8660 can be installed on other
PC, I could install it on my desktop. Thanks for any information.

3mb or 6mb cache doesnt change alot maybe 10% more. If you are using some big scientifical unknown programs then 6mb cache will help yea

After looking at the video i realized that you guys can see me. But when playing there is no reflection.

I have seen alot of glossy screens and this one is one of the best. you can see the screen from all angles.

Stay tuned for another video tonight

Lol, not neccessarily a good thing in an open public area. But then again, those areas are limited due to the glare induced by glossy.

But it must look wicked crisp in COD4 I bet.
