    Hi guys!
Finally ive received my p150hm from mySN two days ago.
Im pretty happy of the laptop, i have a few questions!

    - When running an overclock, do you play with auto fan or max fan FN+1?
    - Which are considered the safe temps in OC with my 485m?

Im able to push the gtx485m to 700/1600 while staying around 85c with autofan. If i kick in the turbo fan, it stays around 80-82c.
Now i had alot of laptops - generally from my understanding 80-85c temp range when overclocked is fine, but each tech is different.
My previous experience with a fermi card came from a gtx460m. That baby with an overvolted vbios was achieving 840/1600 while topping 85c stable.

My current 485m is running stock v1.0 bios. What are your thoughts?
Also ive upgraded both EC-KB bios and Bios as well to latest version (0.12 and 0.14 iirc) which kinda softned the fan ramping up every 10 seconds.

Also i want to know if these initial benchmarks look fine:

    3dmark11:

    Clocks 680-1600
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 485M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2760QM Processor,CLEVO P150HMx score: P3809 3DMarks

    Clocks 700-1600

I need to run vantage, heaven benchmarks and stuff like that. But from what ive seen, its good to run Crysis 2 @ extreme dx11/texture pack at 45-55fps, at least in the level i was playing (central park).
Also BF3 ultra/hbao/post AA max stays around 40-50 with drops into 35 when alot of smoke is present (SP).
Specs are in sig, althought i misyped the cpu, its a 2760qm actually.
So any advice or suggestions i can look for? Note that TP is the default one, i may consider a repaste, i just got a tube of MX-4 which never failed on me.

    Thanks :)

You bought a new laptop with the GTX485M? Why....its more than a year old card! And its SLOWER than GTX580M and AMD 6970M! Not to mention slower than my AMD 6990M!

You could have saved cash if you went with the AMD cards and they perform better than this 485M.

Well i bought it because it came for just 400...i sold my g53 for almost 1000 and this configuration was 1400 shipped and with warranty, i was searching something that let me upgrade gpu and cpu in the future, while having a good perfomance for these days.

Since the 485m and 580m are basically the same card speaking of raw power (yes, core is different, less power hungy and more efficent in the 580m, i know it) i didnt had a reason to spend more money over a 580m if i can go above stock clocks, and even a bit more.

That are my reasons :) About ATI...no thanks, im staying away from amd althought i had owned crossfire systems in the past (in my desktop, 5850 vapor-x superclocked) and i had only troubles with drivers, crossfire scaling and generally low performance in the games i play. Lets say that i prefer nvidia over ati, without debating on the argument.

Still, im looking for some advice as the first post, i dont want to go offtopic.
The 485m may be old, but not always newer is better, althought the 580m had a price cut in these days.

    Heh ^

Nice work, loving mine as well. What do you plan to run it at 24/7?

I'm not OCing yet, as I have a very enjoyable quality 1080p framerate in 3D Mass Effect 2(NFS HotPursuit and TF2) @ stock clocks. I don't play with max fan ever unless im gaming while the laptop is on my lap. I figure the fan will go dead quicker, and auto keeps the chip no higher than 81C, mostly at 78C depending on ambient(when gaming). When I turn max fan on, however my gpu run 10C cooler on average. Benchmarks look fine though I wouldn't know the difference. Have you used your cuda cores to encode anything yet? It's a beautiful thing. I realize I have the P17HM, but the hardware is similar enough to compare I think. You temps seem fine, but just curious to know if you plan to keep it OC'd all the time, or toggle it.

No for now I'm toggling it when i need it.
Ive set three profiles using inspector: 700/1600-680/1600 and stock clocks.
The card performs great at stock so I'm gonna use the oc only when needed.
I'm stable at 700mhz which is comfortable enough IMHO, so il leave the bios as it is :)

The 485m is fairly close in price to the 6990 and can be overclocked to 580m levels without much work. For a lot of people that prefer Nvidia, it's worth the bit extra as it can equal the 6990 after overclocks and still give you CUDA/PhysX and some better game support.

You don't always need the latest and greatest. I'm still rocking my SLI 470 desktop cards at home for the same performance as a 580 at less than the cost of one. :)
