I am really excited to get my hands on mine...
I have heard that the up time on battery is abysmal, for this baby.
(I actually chose the 620M hoping that I can save up some battery Juice)
Questions:
1. How long is the battery last when not gaming on this Rig ?
2. Any suggestions on a bigger battery or options to increase the up time on battery ?
-
lasts about an hour.
there is no bigger better battery option.
I'm looking for an external battery but no one here seems to know what external battery will work for this laptop. If you find out let me know. -
Why would you buy a unit that isn't meant to be run on battery, if battery life is that important to you? Maybe being in the hospital has made me cranky, but this would be something you should research before purchasing, no?
I get about 40 minutes surfing the internet with my card underclocked to 200/250. -
You are right on that, I bought it knowing fully well that the battery wont hold up....
This is more like an after-thought, to see IF by any chance there are other options that could compensate for the battery. Maybe something like what Kip is looking for...
Just reaching out to the all knowing community to know my options if any -
Based on the draw required, I'm going to guess that anything that does work is going to be far to big to be practical. That, or it'll only give another 15 minutes. But here's to hoping, can't hurt to have extra battery in a pinch. -
At the risk of sounding stupid, have you considered just getting a second battery?
-
Yes I have.
It was around $120 if I placed an order along with the laptop.
I might end up buying one if that turns out to be the best option in terms of bang for the buck...
So looking for options before I can make up my mind and call powernotebooks to see if they can include this in the order as well. -
I have seen a few external battery systems, but I cannot recall the name of the manufactures. They were in the Sager forums. I tried searching but I just don’t have the time to work on it right now. The problem with the external systems is they would still limit you to about an hour of time on the highest capacity systems.
Here is a link to something you are probably looking for:

Maybe someone else can help find some other sites, or it may help you get started. -
I think I get twenty minutes if Im lucky. I figured if I bought three or four spares, I would have enough juice to do something out in the field. Like maybe get through half a movie! But I dont feel like investing 300 bucks to watch OWLS OF GA'HOOLE out in my car so that aint gonna happen. You buy these 'speed machines' for semi-portability, hauling em from one outlet to the next. The batteries are for show, just so they can pretend to be laptops, these things may technically fit on your lap but are really more like some sort of hybred. Good luck with your new puter!
