What would be the best CPU to get for the 5796? The reason I ask is because I have hearc some of the CPU upgrades cost hundreds of dollars but only increase performance by milliseconds. Thanks for the help.

best value - 2.4
little future proof - 2.53 -
nirvana, if you had to guess, how much is "little"?
i'm in similar shoes as jellybeans atm. I checked tom's hardware and they're getting pretty excited about the 2.53 25w:

what do you folks think about this processer for a dedicated gaming machine (5796) with a 9800 gtx and 4 gb of DDR3? where will the bottleneck be and how futureproof would you suspect it'd be? -
Let's think logically.
The difference between P8600 and P9500 is 3 MB Cache and 0.13 GHz.
So the P9500 won't be that more future proof than the P8600.
I'm going to take the P8600, and if in three years I see that it is getting old, I'll buy a new processor (this will void my warranty, but there's no 3+ year guarantee anyway).
Just a Quick Question about CPU
