Hey guys new here. Been getting no sleep looking and searching for the perfect laptop.

I narrowed it between the Sager NP5793 and the Gateway P-7801u.

Maybe I am nuts because the Gateway has a 1gig GPU and the Sager only has a 512 so in the end I sacrificed the BUS speed of DDR2 for the Blu-Ray player and optional equipment you can add onto the sager such as a TV Tuner built in blue tooth, Build quality also.. I am not a fan of sending things in.

I think it was the right choice.

    I hope ....

I really despise the crytek engine and am more interested in FarCry 2 .. I hope it plays it on medium settings. If not I can live with HL source engines and others..

FarCry 2 isn't that demanding. I only have a 256MB ATI 3470 and I'm running FC2 @ 1280x720 res, 2xAA and mostly low settings very smoothly. I don't know which GPU is in the Sager laptop but chances are it will run FC2 nicely.

Thank you for that input I am really eager to get this thing in the mail. I know the Sager is Japanese and the Gateway was built in Afghanistan so that gives me a little more confidence with my purchase.

Do you like the game so far ? I hate crysis multiplayer..

My old desktop is a 7800GTx2 SLI Asus deluxe mobo pentium D 2.8 3 gigs ram
19" monitor .... It is OK... I am wondering if this laptop will outperform my current rig in 3dmark...

I had the same scenario as you.

I decided on the NP5793 because it was the better deal by far. Plus you can upgrade the Sager's GPU. I heard you can't with the P-7801U.

Yeah I love it. I haven't played FC2 multiplayer so far but the single player campaign is awesome and takes forever to finish with lots of bonus missions and so on... probably my favorite fps this year.

yes the M570RU (Sager 5793) should be compatible with the 9800M GTX.

Do you have to order the GPU from Clevo or Sager? If so how do I go about that?

    Thanks guys

You can contact a Clevo vendor directly (email or phone) and order a videocard through them.

Start with your own vendor first, then go to:
    ....etc... in Clevo Guide

The card is probably a lot of money .. Why wouldn't they offer the card with this laptop ? Not like it's SLI capable ..... Right ?

Its because they have made pre-builds of the systems with 9800M GTS already.

I guess if you contact them directly and ask to have the better card, they will do it for you custom.
