are you sure you need that blu ray though? maybe when its cheaper get an external or even an internal replacement? Other than that I like your specs. mine is in my sig from PCMW.
-
Awesome specs. There's a 'lot of "Next Gens" and "Ultras" in that system
-
If you gonna go brave, might as well go all the way
Good config. -

Droooooool
-
wow, you actually ordered a Blu-Ray burner?
Thats worth more than any other single component in the system... LOL.
Nice specs BTW. -

@Brendhan: Very nice specs and I admire your courage to spend so much money on such a new and unproven system! -
I like living on the edge (pun intended) lol
-
NICE specs. That thing's gonna rock. Did they give you an estimated ship-date? Can't wait to see the reviews!
-
4300$?
Man, I can buy a house for that money
Nice config, hope you get it soon -

lol, well for college, a laptop like this would be much more useful than a helicopter.
Still, it would be awesome just to be able to tell my roommate "Yeah, I own a helicopter. Need a ride to town?"
Anyway, I am planning on using the laptop as my primary computer for about 3 years, which is why I tricked it out. Didn't go with a SSD though, it would have been a waste of money. -
Sounds awesome. Can't wait to read a review
-
@chrisvolker and Brendhan, check out my sig.

PFFFT no SSD in that thing. Might as well just chisel your class notes on slabs or rock.
-
lol 4 that + rep -
you definitely have to take lots of pics and do a review i want one real bad!
-
when it finally ships, don't worry, a review will follow.
-
-
When are the M860TU start shipping? August?
-
late june-early July.
or whenever Intel releases montevina. -
July 14 as I remember it
-
good call, I forgot that.
So, intel releases montevina the 14th, PCMW starts shipping their laptops probably within a week of that date, right? -

Most probably.

Man, 1333 FSB... *faints*
Why didn't you get the 8GB RAM? -
I was debating it, but I can always upgrade later when it won't cost an extra $1000. Right now, and probably for the next 6 months-1 year, 8gb of ram would be overkill.
-
Not really, you can use up RAM very easily doing professional sound creation.
But if this is a gaming laptop, my god, you are SET! -
Brendhan, what are you going to school for?
Also, did you think about the quad cores too? -
Quad core is also unnecessary for me. If i really needed quad core in a notebook, I would have gone with the blackhawk. Dual core at 2.8ghz is plenty for me.
And I am going to be studying to be a teacher. That will give me plenty of time to game when I'm not yelling at little sh*ts for forgetting what I teach them lol -
That's the spirit, you'll be looking for a new job soon lol.
-
yeah, but at least i'll have a sweet laptop.
-
tell that to the judge
I wonder how the Edge will fit next to the m15x, I cannot help my scepticism about 1 fan...either noisy or a hot laptop... -
Well, they sure have taken their time releasing it, so I guess the testing they have done is pretty rigorous. Still, I hope it isn't too loud.
-
here is the answer to this issue with only a slight ammount of moding needed. -
Randi Weingarten a line, she's the head of the NYC We-Hate-Kids (oops, I meant to say, Teachers') union. After all, it was just last week or so that I read another news item about how the NYC education dep't assigns teachers to empty rooms in administrative buildings and continues to pay them full salary and benefits, notwithstanding that there isn't a school-age child within miles of that location.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 6, 2015
