Hard Drives are constantly getting bigger, right now you can get a set of 320GB 7200RPM HDs for about 150 bucks, but there are 500GB HDs out there. Remember if you want to maintain Raid 0 (you do), you must replace the HDs with two identical ones.

Also, make sure the fans and vents are nice and clean and monitor the CPU and GPU temps to make sure your system is not going to nuke itself. Temps over 80-85c is cause for concern. Even though they may be within thermal threshold, your parts degrade and eventually fail must faster at high temps. Get a cooling pad with fans if you can.

Thanks for the response. I do want to maintain Raid 0 apparently. Ok. So the HDs are upgradeable, good to know. When you say identical HDs, do you just mean brand or capacity, model # etc? Already looking into cooling pads, any sugggestions? I take it the memory and gpu are maxed out on this rig then since there were no suggestions for those.

By identical HDD's, he means identical HDD's. The HDD's, ideally, need to be the same make and model.

Yeah, i think everything else is fully spec'd, although can could probably replace the CD drive with a Blu-ray drive if you want. I use a Zalman cooling pad, they are pretty nice.

This is true, but if it's a cost issue, they don't have to be. You can even mix and match drive sizes and speeds if you wanted, but your performance and available storage space will suffer.

For size, you'll only get 2 x the smallest size drive, and for speed, you'll be limited to the speed of the slowest drive.
