The title says it all... just got an update from Xotic that the order has been shipped and is expected for arrival on 09 April. Woohoo! Wanted to share my joy with those who would appreciate (most of my friends are like huh? What's a GTX 260... is it better than a mac?)

Tell them 'yes', the 8662 beats the crap out of the MBP GPU, then throws it into the gutter and stomps on it some more (as well as the rest of the machine because it's user upgradeable).

a nice unboxing vid would also be appreciated! couple things I'm interested in if you decide to write up a review:

    1. Fan Noise level when running at full speed.
    2. Speaker sound quality (yes yes it's lame, but an interest)
    3. Comparing 260M benchmarks with the 9800m GS/GTS/GT/GTX. The marks we have so far are only theoretical, you'd be one of the first to run actual marks.

I got the T9800... I know a lot of people recommended "future proofing" but I wanted to enjoy my toy right now - I can always replace the CPU later or just sell this one and get a new rig with a bit of money on top. As for benchmarking - I don't have any games, but if people suggest which benchmarks I can use for free, I will try to run them all. I will def. do the 3DMark one's... anything else?

I can't wait for mine to arrive. After lots of debate and research I went for the Q9000 so it will be interesting to see how well this performs when I get it. Either way, the GTX260M will be a noticeable upgrade considering my current laptop is using a Nvidia Geoforce 9500M GS.

Went with the WSGA+ as I read that having a WUXGA is not really worth it on a 15"... plus I use a 24" monitor at home anyway.

From what I could gather, those were run at high resolutions, much higher than 1680 x 1050. I don't have an account so I can't see though.

The benchmark was ran at 1900*1200 at everything is very high.
It got 10k on 3dmark with Vista though.

What programs are you guys going to use to benchmark your computers? Freeware or purchased? Other than Crysis of course! Guess I'll finally have to go buy that dang game! ;)

Well mine showed up yesterday, how about everyone else's??!?

I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet other then run through the initial XP set up. My only complaint so far... the free bag that came with it! Junk! I will probably donate it! lol!

Seriously though, can't wait to start messing with this thing and see everyone else's too!! :D

10k? Really? I'm keeping my overclocked 9800m GT then.

Won't be upgrading unless this thing gets significantly better gaming performance.

No, not the card, but the Nvidia Forceware driver version (like 179.xx or whatever).

In case you don't know how to check, open the Nvidia Control Panel and click 'View system information'. It will be listed next to 'Geforce video'.

Right, but 10K on a stock clocked 260M means it could prolly hit 11K with a mild overclock. Or maybe I'm being too optimsitic :)
