Got my Sager NP 5760 finally after one week of anticipation!

Some good things i noted were:

    - the build quality is excellent. Really impressed by the sager brand.
    - Solid build.

I immediately formatted the VISTA 64 that came installed with it with the Home Premium 32 bit.

    Some issues i faced were:

    1. Loading pixel buddy resulted in me locating 2 bad pixels on the WUXGA screen. :( Finding them was the the worst thing i could do as it makes me consience of it unncessarily..

    2. The WUXGA screen though beautiful is a little hard on the eyes. I increased the font size to 120 dpi that seems better but still find it a strain on my eyes.

    3. The network signal on my lappie even though at a distance of around 6 feet from the router shows 3-4 bars only.. installing the latest drivers and restarting the machine doesnt seem to solve that problem. Moreover i cant seem to find networks that were easily found by old Dell Latitude.

    Laptop Specs: Core 2 Duo 2 Ghz, 7950GTX go, WUXGA, 2 Gb 667ghz DDR2, 100 GB 7200 rpm HDD.

Congrats on the new beast. :)

Sager has a TOTAL SATISFACTION guarantee, so I would ask them to replace the unit for you to make it quick.

You should not live with that many dead pixels on a nice WUXGA screen.

Though it's beautiful, do you think it would have been the better bet to go say..1680x1050 on the resolution? I ask because i'm in the soon-to-purchase market..

If you are used to the WUXGA screen, then definately go for it. Else i would say the WSXGA+ screen strikes the best balance between desktop space and resolution.

    Thanks.

Yeah, the dead pixels kinda nag at me when you buy such a high priced laptop.

Besides, since i seem to find the WUXGA resolution too small, is it possible for me to get it replace with a WSXGA+?

Give your Sager vendor a call, they should be glad to change your order if that would satisfy you.

Yeah 2 dead pixels is a little much.. I have one and while I might not really care others do.

Checked and found that one of the dead pixels seems to lie in the middle quadrant..

Is there a software that can split the screen into perfect 9 quadrants so that i can confirm this??
