    Congrats on the new rig.

What kind of OS are you running on it?

if you just got it from Sager, then it should be up-to-date.

you can test it by pressing the Fan Toggle keys:
    - Fn+1 for Max Speed or Auto Speed
    - Fn+3 for Medium Speed

x86 is where Windows will put 32-bit programs/apps/games

standard Program File will be for the 64-bit stuff.

you only see both folders when using x64 Windows

it automated... so dont worry about it. :)

I had the same in FIFA 09 and in my case this was caused by my CPU that was overheating. After lowering the voltage I was able to keep the the temperature on a lower level which allowed me to play the game without these freezes. I don't know if you have the same problem. Monitor the temp with HWMonitor and look at the max temperature value.

My X9100 was reaching temps of 110° Celsius and would then shutdown. Now I have temps between 90 and 100° Celsius under heavy load. This is still too hot but still lower than the max 105° Celsius. I use RMClock to undervolt. There is an undervolting guide somewhere on these forums.

OMG!!! 110° Celsius!! man thats uberly high!

u sure ur vents are clean?? try blowing some compressed air through the vents nd clean the vents! dust in the heatsink vents might be causing such high temps!!

see what happens! nd post the temps after that! :)

Already did that I opened a support case to have my notebook checked. Imho I either got a bad CPU or there is something seriously wrong. My notebook is only 6 weeks old.

You don't have to choose yourself, the installation wizards will default to the correct directory. Ultimately you can install the applications where you want even in C:\Whatever\

I highly recommend that you remove the CPU cooler and reapply some thermal paste.

Mine came with the plastic sticker still on, between the base of the cooler and the CPU core. In that situation my CPU was at around 100ºC too. After applying some AS5 the temperatures stabilized around 60ºC at full(Prime95).

The guy that assembled my CPU should be stoned or something... :p

This is a 3500 EURO notebook that is like a said a couple of weeks old. In Europe we get a 2-year warranty with every product we buy. If the reseller messed up they should fix it. Although I would like to see what it looks like, I am not going to remove my CPU cooler an risk to void warranty.

I´m from Europe too(Portugal), and yes, here we pay a lot more than in the states, even with the € stronger than the $(1€ = 0.75$).

I paid 2000€ for mine ~1 year ago and I still have one more year of warranty. I´ve opened it dozens of times, for cleaning, apply AS5, manutension tasks. It´s like a car, you need to check it, change the oil, lubrificate, etc... if you don´t do manutension tasks in it, then it will have problems sooner than normal.

There is´nt absolutely any problem checking the thermal paste of your CPU, you are not going to void your warranty for that. Unless you have a warranty sticker on the main door.

Sometimes we are so overprotective than we end on unprotectiveness... ;)

Like I said before it does not matter where you install stuff you can put it in the C:\NBA2009\ folder if you want. The .EXE contains enough information to determine whether it was x86 or x64 compiled. The %programfiles% is just a default directory where software will be installed.
