Hi guys, I just recieved new lappy M860TU from Eurocom.(actually my brother did)

    T9600
    4GB DDR3 1333MHz
    9800M GT
    250GB 7200RPM (Seagate momentus 7200.3 with G-force)
    Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit
    Wifi link 5300
    Bluetooth

My first impresion was awesome :)

I followed this guide and installed it:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=330112

(Intel storage manager 8.06,HW monitor, CPU-Z, GPU-Z(sohail99's post) and Intel chipset driver, PCI-E LAN realtec drivers and Realtec sound driver (Audigi's post))

    My idle temps:
    HDD 45C
    GPU 48C
    CPU 36C

When I open CPU-Z, my CPU is running only at~1600MHz.(6x multiplier)
If I switch between normal and silent mode, only difference is voltage (silent is 1.11V and normal 1.33V)

I know it is dump question but I cant find this thread.
(I am sure someone has the same problem)

Thank you for your help. (woah just downloaded 3DMark :-D )

Your CPU isn't needed to run at full speed so it switches to a lower multiplier to save power, when you need the speed it will kick back up to full speed.

Try running it in Balance and Power Saver to see how it scores.

    I tried this:
    Battery mode power saver 3400Marks
    Battery mode blanced 4300Marks
    Battery mode high performance 4400Marks

    AC Adapter
    High performance 9200Marks

It seems like I cant achieve more than 4500Marks on Battery.
    Is is normal?

I think my score 9200Marks is still low compared to my rig.

I would appreciate any help to improve my score.

    Thank you all

Oh the low score was on battery? LOL!!! There's nothing you can do about that.

What is your CPU score on that 9200 run?

Well that's Nvidia's Powermizer technology at work. It downclocks your card when on battery to extend it's life.

To disable try this, or try using the Powermizer Switch. Some people swear by these methods, but I've never had that registry entry, and the swutch has never worked either. Oh well.

Oh, and look again, I have the T9 800. ;)

    Cheers.

    Okay now Iam getting sick.

Since I got these scores around 9200, I cannot achiveve more than 4500 anymore. Its like my laptop cant recognize that AC is plugged in. On the bar it shows fully charged and there is cable icon right by the battery icon.

It seems to me like SW issue. I have M860TU 2 days and still drives me crazy. I know I am kinda noob but if the notebook is on AC adapter and set high performance mode, I would see gigh performance.

    Please help.

Compared to my P8600? Rather large difference in RTS like Company of Heroes, Universe At War. I bought it for Dawn Of War II, and I know it'll make my investment worth while. Of course benchmarks improved greatly. 3Dmark06 went up +1200, it knocked almost 4 minutes off the 1024m wPrime run.

It is a power hungry sob though. I haven't let it fully discharge my battery yet, but I'm guessing that it's kicked about half an hour off of my battery life.

im running the P9500 and getting a score of 9240 so yours should defo be about the 10,000 mark or above.

if your not sure what your doing with updating drivers or bios then this can cause problems. if you havnt fully removed the previous drivers it can cause conflict and mess all sorts of things up.

Thank you for your advice. I disconnected battery and went sleep. In the morning I plugged the battery in and system works runs perfectly. Now I am charging battery and we will se what happen if it hits 100%.

so are you getting 9000-10000 3dmark06 scores again. if so it sounds that somehow there was a strain on your motherboard and it downclocked for some reason. keep an eye on it and keep us posted.
also download HW Monitor to keep an eye on your temperatures.

Woah wait. This I didn't know. In order to run full speed on the GFX card, I need to be plugged in? I know if on battery gaming would be short, but I din't know about the downclock.

im just guessing about downclocking but i cant think of another reason why it would drop from 9000+ to 4000+ in 3dmark06

Let me tell you what happened today. Like I said, everything was okay in the morning while I was charging. When battery hit 100%, It was still good. I updated my stock drivers from Eurocom 176.28 to official nvidia 179.XX Beta.

The same problem again. I reinstalled clean OS, now I am on stock drivers and works good. I dont know what the heck is with it. I think I am able to update drivers of my gpu. Everybody on this forum has upgraded to newer gpu driver either dox or nvidia beta driver right? Why I cant :(

Now with older driver got lower results. Only 9200 points in 3DMArk2006 , lower fps in games etc.

Do you think I shoud replace it ?

When you run the newer drivers, are you getting any log entries in your event logs that might suggest what the problem is?

The quick explanation for how to find the event logs in _Vista is on this webpage. I run XP, so I don't always know exactly how to get to all of the different functionalities in _Vista (I know what's there, just not how to get there, if you know what I mean :D).
