As the titles states, I just received my 9150 back from an RMA yesterday in which Sager replaced the LCD due to light bleed damage and did a few other things Here's the link to my previous thread about the light bleed issue on my previous LCD:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/690571-does-anybody-know-what-sager-np9150-screen.html

As you guys can tell from the pictures, there is a vertical band of "light bleed" in the middle of the screen when viewed from the left on an all black screen. Now, since it's not all that noticeable, it's not really that big of a deal to me, but if it's not normal, then I'd rather just have it replaced again, because I want this expensive laptop to be damn near perfect. Plus, my keyboard is missing keystrokes as I type this, so I'd probably have to have that replaced anyways. So from the pictures, is this sort of normal on this screen? It's definitely not as bad as my last one.

EDIT: The last two photos of the right angle are supposed to be "normal" and are used as a comparison for the left angle.

No screen is perfect, so you will always see problems from strange/large angles away from the screen. Provided there are no issues that interfere with normal viewing it is fine.

I had mine replaced because i had those issues at a proper viewing angle, second screen came in almost perfect although same as you far left, far right can see bleeding.

I ended up returning it because it had red ghosting/trails, see Hotjujutube's thread. yhchoong had the red trailing issue too, he also posted a youtube video of it.

Personally, I don't really see the benefit of high gamut screens. Then again, I am colorblind

Yeah, I was following that thread. I don't think I have red ghosting/trails on this new screen. So is that "bleed" on my screen sort of normal I guess? Gathering from other user's responses it seems to be kinda normal. I mean I have to go to the very far left to even see it faintly, whereas on my last screen is was easily noticeable when barely changing angles.

if you have to go very far left to see it faintly, your screen is fine :) change your wallpaper and enjoy the colour that lcd produces, it is amazing.

I was asked if i wanted to go back to a normal panel, after those replacements and i can't, the screen is too nice to go back on. third time lucky for me, hopefully lol :)

Haha true :) the color really is fantastic on this screen! But still, just knowing that it's there bugs me! I'm totally OCD about these kinds of things lol. Yep! Third time's a charm :D

Haha exactly! So do you think I should even worry about this screen? I do have a full year to really decide if I want it replaced... lol. I already email XoticPC's customer service asking about it, so I guess I'll see what they say first.

UPDATE: I just received word back from XoticPC via Sager. Basically, Sager said that with the higher gamut screens comes some pink discoloration on dark backgrounds. First of all, this isn't even the issue I was referring to; the main problem I have with the replacement LCD is that there's still light bleed. So basically they're saying this is normal, which I know it's not. I've seen pictures of other's high gamut screens with no discoloration or bleeding at all. It sounds like they are refusing to replace it, which is complete B.S. to me, but we'll see what happens. Thankfully, Eric offered me a downgrade to a lower gamut screen, which apparently doesn't have these problems. Is there anyone who has the regular matte screen on the NP9150? How is it compared to the 95% gamut matte screen?

Yeah, I don't think I can do it either! It's just too nice of a screen. So this is your third time, right? Eric from XoticPC's service got back to me and said he'd pass along the information I just shared above and see what Sager says in response. I think there was some confusion/miscommunication between XoticPC and Sager's customer service/technical support; the problem I was facing was the light bleed, not the pinkish background, which I know is normal. In fact, the pinkish hue doesn't really show up in person, just in pictures. Hopefully Sager will recognize the real issue and replace the screen again, or I'm gonna be furious... lol.

Well technically its my third, I sent it in for RMA once for the screen, came back and it was all good then, I found some other annoying issues and the whole red ghosting thing on the new screen (otherwise it would have been perfect :() and sent in for a second RMA last week. They ended up replacing the unit, so I have a new system which i'm still waiting for, should be here on Thursday.

My reseller actually told me as well that they consider that normal too and I wasn't able to replace the screen anymore, although i they gave me the option to downgrade.

Oh I see... Hopefully it will come back perfect! :) If I have to send it in, this will be my second RMA. Did you buy from XoticPC? Because, yeah, the customer service there said it was normal, but could be replaced anyway. He told me that if the whole laptop has to be sent in three or more times, Sager will usually just end up replacing the whole laptop, like in your case. Maybe they'll do that with mine ;) But you were able to retain your 95% gamut screen on your new unit?

Nah I got mine from an Australian reseller, worth a shot, that's what I'm hoping for :D

They advised me to downgrade screens to avoid these issues but I couldn't push myself too, so I thought I'd take another shot at it.

Oh gotcha. XoticPC wanted me to downgrade too, but like you, I just can't! But they still let you replace the screen, even though they thought it was "normal?"

Well, my screen bleeding was face on, heres a picture -

    https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22974081/IMAG0344.jpg

That was something i definitely couldn't deal with, from an extreme left or right angle I would have left it. This was the second problem, which was the red image burn -

    46mb, couldnt be bothered altering.

When I told my reseller i had issues, thats when he started saying that its normal. Prolly hadn't mentioned that I had red ghosting.

That first one does look pretty bad! The current LCD I have right now has bleed from a far left angle, but me being OCD about these things, I just can't deal with it! Someone else in one of my other threads also told me this wasn't normal, saying he had two other 95% gamut matte screens with no bleed issues whatsoever. So I'm just gonna keep replacing it until it's perfect :)

Well, it looks like I'm staying with my current LCD! After further contact with XoticPC and Sager, Sager apparently went through 40 different LCD replacements and deemed that the one I currently have was the best. Knowing that makes me feel better with having the screen. They also told me that light bleed at that extreme of an angle was normal, and more evident on higher gamut screens. Granted, Sager wouldn't replace the screen because they went through so many the first time, but offered me a downgrade, which I couldn't accept! So I'm happy with my current LCD :)
