    Just how big is the 9850?

    I've never seen a laptop that big... I'm planning on getting a laptop for school (engineering degree) but I don't want to haul some huge laptop around, you know? Then again I do want to play a bit and be comortable.

    Its huge. You would look like an idiot when taking out a 18.4" laptop from your bag in a class. Im guessing the battery isnt that great either.

    The 9850 is not a lappy for school use. Not by a long shot unless you are not going to be taking it to classes and just keeping it in your room. You might be able to get by with a 17" 5797, but a 15.4" is the ideal compromise between portability, graphic power and battery life. At least that is my opinion.

    i get about an hour to an hour and half on my battery on normal use, obviously it cant really be used for gaming as the cards downclock

    As for size, mate you could surf on it
