It's not so much about brand as about power.2500$ for an SLI system with 8800M GTX? Seriousely, anybody who sells me a 8800M GTX SLI Clevo for 2500$ has a deal right now!If not, sorry, the dell wins.
Yes,Dell has an international warranty, another big plus for me...
It's clevo's fault for not expanding into Europe, what,we don`t matter ? Dell offers a better deal and an international warranty, what can I say...
Yep,Kdwgca deleted them,or the whole thread.

Once again, can anybody sell me a Clevo with 8800M GTX SLI for 2500$? Brand new as the dell?
    I thought not :(

Yea,your 9262 at 1850 +750 for the GTX would`ve come close to it, but without a 3 year warranty...

@Xirurg, you deserve to be punished with the unicorn stick of ignorance.
And my spare tire for the messed up car :D

I took the liberty of looking at more 9262 pics, and although it's thick, the cooling system speaks for itself.

Cheers to the cooling system of 9262.

I don't know why all manufacturers don't implement the fan control like Clevo. It's really good IMHO.

As an ex reseller of Dells, this 9262 runs rings around anything Dell ever produced. The entire experience was better for purchasing as well. I just wish the 9262 had backlighting of some kind.

Edit, crap, didnt realize it had to be SLI. I didnt go with SLI, cause im hiding in the shadows looking for a used one or a price drop. But honestly i Run Half Life 2, Command and Conquer 3, WoW, Age of Conan, Company of Heroes, Quake 3, Crysis, at full resolution without a glitch. (Well Crysis about as well as modern machinery can run it ;P)

Well yes, the DELL warranty rocks. The actually replaced my XPS desktop with a newer 710 because it was a lemon. No charge. That rocked :) Their propriatery components make me sick tho. (But I do hear the 730 series and on will use standard components from now on)

    I digress.

Not that DELL makes crap, If you need the warranty, do the DELL. We'll understand ;) Tax on a expensive laptop is a ***** tho.

Because of the initial problems with the D900K overheating and having to replace the mainboard sometimes 3-4 in a warranty period. bad for bussiness.
That's why you see the D901C so cool now, they really worked around the problems.

    Actually thats not entirely correct.

It was the D900T that gave a black eye to Clevo, since it's first revision had faulty motherboards... and it was prone to overheating since the Fan Toggle was not implemented until later revisions of that notebook.

Another thing I found when dealing with most people that got the D900T (from any vendor), is that they did NOT know jack about taking care of their systems... overheating due to dust clogging the vents, and they could care less and blamed the notebook and the vendors... geez.

The D900K did not have those issues... I know, I got mine with heavy research. :)

AW also mysteriously stopped carrying (or slowly phased out) Clevo notebooks after 2006... can you say Gophn's Clevo Guide. :D

They could not compete with so many vendors selling the same units for better prices and support.

So AW started getting exclusive models through Arima & now Quanta to have a niche... and have the ability to charge whatever they want.

My brother just told me that the "fat ass" of a laptop I have doesn't fit in the laptop sleeve of the bag I pasted. Sucks.

In other news, wasn't this a 'thickness' thread? Haha. Ohwell, carry on!

With these kinds of powerful 17" notebooks, its usually recommended to get a good notebook backpack or roller case to carry it around.

I brink mine around fine to school and work... you get used to it... and the straps of the notebook backpack is pretty comfortable, so I do not notice it much.
