I installed this driver yesterday morning and it's the best one I've used. Everything is stable, rendering is good, and I gained some speed. My sm2/sm3 scores increased by 1% in 3Dmark06, adding 100 marks, and, more importantly, my Crysis benchmark performance improved quite a bit. Not only did my average FPS go up by over 6%, but my minimum FPS, a number that I find important, nearly doubled.

I'm not an expert but here's how I do it:

    1) Uninstall nVidia drivers in Control Panel

    2) Reboot in Safe Mode

    3) Install new drivers from Device Manager

    4) Reboot

I use Driver Cleaner after step 2). If you decide to use it just follow its directions.

    Vbios is 62.92.23.00.14.
Not sure what the system bios is. Everest only seems to show the date: 01/09/08. What I am missing?

I just downloaded these drivers from Laptopvideo2go. Tried to DL em from Sager but the DL speed was like 6-8k a sec compared to 150k a sec from 2go. Anyways, they work in my SLi 9262. Scored 12707 at stock clocks.

Side note, I just got my second card in the mail today and installed it, then DLed the new drivers. So I have no comparison how well an SLi system runs on older drivers.

I actually knew about those drivers but my download was so slow I didn't want to post about it until I got them ;)
Anyway, I tested today. Crysis benchmark FROZE during the third run (I am not using any overclocking on my system). The runs that did finish were within .1 FPS of my 174.74 driver from laptopvideo2go drivers.
I do not recommend the new sager drivers. The 174.74 drivers from laptopvideo2go seem to be very stable and the fastest I have seen yet...

dexgo, Clevo doesn't make drivers. Blame nVidia for being lame and late! They are the ones coding the drivers.

Clevo has something to do with it no?

I have heard time and time again that it's up to the vendor to work with nvidia to release them .

How do I tell which drivers are already installed? Tried dxdiag but the numbers don't match.

    version says 6.14.0011.6740
    date: 10/24/07

I should not have to run CoD4 at 1100*800 to maintain 90 FPS (no shadows) and I want to try different drivers before sending this NP9262 back.

That version (167.40) is what was installed on my machine when I received it, and it ran at about half speed! Try some other drivers before you give up.

    wobble, which are you using?

I have the exact same setup as you in your sig with 2GB ram as the only difference.

well CSS runs fantastic at 19x12 but I compete in COD4.

I must be able to run higher fps at higher res for my 3500 bucks.

I will try more drivers for sure.

Yes, that is partially how it works, but also consider that Clevo has nothing to do with making those cards, nor drivers. It's still up to nVidia to release the drivers and Clevo guys to say if it works or not. I think that there have been quite a few bad drivers coming from nVidia to the desktop world to avoid blaming anyone (used to test a lot of drivers for Tweaks R Us back when they were still TRU and I still had an nVidia card).

    I'm using the latest from Sager's site: 174.82 (6.14.11.7482)

    Go here: http://www.sagernotebook.com/information.php?information_id=2

[edit] I doubt memory is the problem, but, if you double it, you'll have 3GB usable which can come in handy

So are the new 174.82 good or not with XP? Right now I think I am using 167.46. Doesn't seem to be as good as the driver I had on there when the notebook was delivered.

dexgo you are correct, I tried these drivers on my XPS M1730 and yes it lowers the average fps in Crysis with 3-4 fps.

We have nearly identical machines. I went from 167.46 to 174.82 and it helped, but the effect seems to be highly unpredictable, so who knows!

You could always try the new drivers and back them out if you don't like them.

You won't be missing much. If your driver is working well, a "better" driver only adds a few fps in games.

I'm running Vista 64 with SLI, using bios's from the cd.
I had installed the latest sager drivers not cd ones (172.82).
I have vista say "the video driver has failed and recovered" warning message whenever I resume from sleep mode, and often when I switch between the laptop LCD and an external monitor.
I also had 1 blue screen of death in windows while using applications (no graphics apps or games or anything).

I'm continuing use these for now, as they're generally fine, but want to replace asap. Not too keen on going to older sager ones off the cd but might have to.

Has anyone found a decent nonsager driver thats very recent, supports sli, doesnt downclock, doesnt crash etc?

I have experienced the same problems when I installed the 174.82 drivers Novak. I have tested a few other drivers and I have decided to go with the 174.33 version (I think that is the version, I am at work now and can not be sure) which the version that my lappy shipped with from Xotic. Now I did loose a couple hundred points in 3Dmark06 going back to the older version, but I prefer a more stable system versus a higher performing one.

Probably I don't get any problem because I have a single card...
