Just ordered my np5796 from xotic pc. How long should I expect to wait till it arrives?
Specs here let me know what you think (I'm sick of waiting for the gtx so i'm trying to justify the gt lol....I ordered with 1680 x 1050 resolution. Should I get 1920 by 1200 or can I not expect games to play with highest setting at that resolution....dont want stuff to be to small.

cheeba, I just order the 9262 and also got the 1680 display. I am sure I will like this display much more that the 1900. The reason I know this is, I just had an m7x with 1900 display. It looked really nice. Very nice actually, but it was just a bit on the small side for me. Now that I have seen both, my recommendation is, if you are gaming and want the extra real estate, the 1900 is the way to go. But if you are using the lappy for other things (Developement, Surfing, Writing, etc) the 1680 will be much easier on the eyes as it wont be so tiny. Dont get me wrong, the 1900 was clear and crisp. I just found myself leaning forward more often to read the screen.

live in the US on east coast. sliqsystems, were you able to play games at the native resolution highest settings with your 1920 by 1200 resolution? Only reason i'd be going 1680 is for longevity of next generation games being able to perform well

I tried Crysis, at the native (1920x1200 on the m17x), and it ran smoothly. I was having problems with the SLI though. For me, I was getting bad flicker (green all over the place). If I turned SLI off, it was fine. Thats why I did not get SLI with my new np9262. I didnt want to deal with the issues. I dont know if my problem was driver, or hardware or game itself (3dMark also showed the same problems). I tried several drivers but none worked.

I'm sure the machine you ordered would play games fine with either display. But the smaller one will be much better (imo) when you are not gaming just due to the tinyness you get on the 1920.
