You ordered ssd w/out SLI? I think SLI would be a more worthwhile upgrade, but thats just me...

Congrats mate. elcome to the Kobalt owners club!!
You definitely will be pleased with your new addition. Let us know how that SSD works out. Unfortunately it wasn't available when I got mine.

Congrats on the new system, you will have to let us know how well she performs with that SSD, boot times and what not. As bhattsan said, I figured SLi would be a priority over the SSD...if you are a gamer. I am guessing you are not a gamer, you just like badass laptops!!

But SSDs are a very nice addition especially for laptops where u might move it around and any component which less heat and less moving parts is definately a plus.

While SLI might give u some additional FPS, even if my system has one, SLI is full of hassle. Like currently my soundcard doesnt function 100% with sli enabled etcetc.

While on the other hand with my RAID0 SSD setup, computer boots really fast and I dont hear that access sound typical of hard-drives and that is a huge plus which i never realized until I got one!

Very good points Kaiserphoenix. If i were more mobile with mine, I would most likely have looked at the SSDs a bit harder. Unfortunately, my lappy spends most or her time sitting at home. At the time I bought her, I was overseas and thought she might do some travelling but since I got a new stateside, stationary job.......my lappy has moved one inch in the last 3 months. (I do clean her, but I don't count that as moving really)

Thanks guys, yep i'll definitely let you know how the ssd performs. I'm not a huge gamer, although I do go through phases of playing if I find something I like, but I don't think i'd really be using an sli config to its full potential. I was just curious about the ssds, and the upgrade was only like £300 so I thought what the heck.

Estimated delivery on the site says july 4th, although andrew said they usually take around 10 working days which would put it at july 10th. Damn i'm impatient :p
