I'm thinking about a similar configuraton myself, but I'm wondering how good is this matte screen that comes as default? Or should I just spend a bit upgrading it?

I have the stock matte screen. It looks amazing. It's a night and day difference (calibrated) from my desktop Acer 23" monitor.

The stock screen is great. The upgraded screen is really worth it if you're picky about quality or do some high end graphics editing on it. You can see the difference here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-between-different-screen-options-photos.html

I've personally had the stock glossy and the upgraded v.7 95% glossy on my P150HM, and both screens were great. I don't think you'll be disappointed either way.

Thank you for the response. I'm definitely not ordering a glossy screen. I intend to use my laptop in very well illuminated environments and my current laptop has a glossy screen. I hate it. Sometimes it resembles mirror. That thread you linked was exactly what I wanted to see :)

I just ordered a Lotus and got the 6990. From the research I've done it seems like the best quality to price option out there. Can't wait for my computer!
