Is the dead pixel warranty really necessary? I'm quite worried now as I skipped it due to budget constraints.

No, dead pixels are quite rare in most new LCD's. However, they do still happen. Getting the dead pixel guarantee means that you won't have a single dead pixel as it's checked extra thoroughly before shipment. There is a chance that without it, you might have 1 or 2 dead pixels, though this is as said before, not likely. Some people just prefer the piece of mind in knowing they won't have to deal with the possibility.

They won't QC your LCD if you didn't pay for that warranty. I'd say every other LCD has at least 1 dead pixel. It's totally a hit or miss without 0DP warranty.

You buy the warranty - they'll find you 0DP LCD. You won't - they'll just slap in whatever LCD is available and check for dead pixels in the center just to be sure it complies with manufacturer's standards.

Yes or No... When u purchase the dead pixel warranty, they take an extra precaution of inspecting the panel before ship out the laptop. So u r guarantee a perfect screen. I don't know if they are still guarantee the upgrade panels since the stock is dry.

Now, if u don't buy the dead pixel warranty and received a screen with some defective pixels that u can't live with, u can still contact the seller to have it replaced.

I don't see why they will refuse to replace when u are in the 30 days return period.
