Congratulations!
-
That's a gamers resolution. Nice rig, now the waiting starts...
-
-Update drivers(details in my sig)
-keep the back raised a bit
-use it on a solid, non fabric surface(not lap)
-clean the dust ever 2 months
That should cover it.
If you're going to OC, I recommend a Zalman NC2000 cooler.
Nice rig, I am jealous too... -
nooby qs: why would u have to raise that back a bit?? and why can't you use it on ya lap??? a how would you clean the dust out?...im guessing by unscrewing the bottom off??...
-
Congrats crunka1ntd3ad! Looks like a killer setup
As for drivers, I found the stock ones to be pretty good, except in Crysis, where 175.80 from laptopvideo2go is much smoother.
arjeee,
The machine takes air in from the 2 fans underneath. If you use it in your lap, you might block those and cause overheating issues so it's best to only use on a smooth surface. Raising the back even on a smooth surface will further help to let air underneath your notebook and aid in cooling. I have used my PC on my lap just a bit but I only do light work (web browsing) and try to keep my leg away from the fan intakes. I also keep an eye on the temps of the GPU, CPU and HD via a program called HWmontor. I find the HD will heat up the easiest.
I actually haven't taken my 5793 apart yet so I can't give exact details. I'm sure someone else can. That said, it's a good idea to keep your desk (or whatever you use your pc on) free of dust and also, take apart and clean your machine every so often. Maybe every 2 months or so. -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)

-
thanks eleron mate!
-
i'm getting ready to buy mine soon as well but not sure who to go through. who did you get your's through?
-
wait for 5796 if you are not in hurry.
-
Wait till the GT280 hit the laptops
Lol, I just read Anandtech`s review..
The GT280 pretty much equals or betters the 8800 GTX SLI... -
yea but that means a price increase and at the current configuration i'm hitting my price limit...
-
I saw GT280 scored 2 times as 9800 GX2 in benchmark. maybe it was wrong.

i've been looking at different vendors and I noticed with them that for some reason their configuration doesn't include the Bluetooth and charge extra
i thought this was standard on the 5793? Any reason you went with that company?
-
it is standard for sager only.
-
-
sager, eurocom and etc can config. whatever they want from clevo.
-
-
-
would it matter for gaming to purchase the 5400rpm harddrive? Wouldn't that slow down performance in games and the OS?
-
If it is the 320GB 5400rpm drive then no, as it has the same performance as the 200GB 7200rpm one. It still won't be as fast as the new 320GB 7200rpm should be. It won't affect gaming that much, just load times
-
Keep in mind that the 320/5400 can be had for around 120$,whereas the 320/7200 is 230$.
I just saw a 1Tb hdd for destktops,7200, 150$.
Why are laptop parts so freaking expensive? -
coz they're shrunk...(and coz they aren't as widespread so laptop owners will pay more for them...)
-
It's still BS man.
1 Tb for 150$ and 320 gb for 230 in laptop world. Totally ridiculous.
Just ordered my 5793!
