Well, after doing some more calling around. Called Malinbal again but it just didn't click with me. Not sure what it was. Called XoticPC as well and ended up talking to Hoss.

He was very nice and I decided to go ahead and order my NP8130. It's now in processing. Can't wait till I get my new laptop!

Got everything stock except added Windows 7 Home and got the 2 year warranty.

Decided not to get the thermal compound at this time. If I decide to I will give it a whirl later and try to install it myself.

    :D

Congrats, welcome to the nervous waiting club! :p

Personally I'm excited too. After using Vista for 3 years I can't wait for Win7, =). This should finally be a computer I can get some serious work done on.

Yep, I'm waiting for my 8170 right now. The suspense is killing me! I'm planning on dual-booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu. I just ordered on Thursday, and I'm already in "Phase 2" (if that actually means anything), but I already feel like an eternity has passed.

Same here, I am on Phase 2 as well.

Here is hoping that I get it by the end of next week.

Depends on if they come out with something better that fits in the slot and can be handles by your psu.. For instance you wouldn't be able to put a 485m in it because your psu isn't big enough (not physical size but how many watts it's rated for)

Maybe, but i wouldn't count on it. They do share (most of) the same innards though, so i wouldn't be surprised to see it be possible. We won't know for sure one way or another until someone actually tries it.

Either way, Its really not a recommended path, as that larger PSU (95 dollars from sager) would cost nearly as much as the difference between the two machines anyway.

I think that will work but might void your warranty in the unlikely event te board wasnt meant to handle the higher load... I think it's te same board though.
