{ This post was made by a Friend not the real Washy212} Just got off the phone with Donald from Sager. I have completed my purchase of the NP8662. The only tweak he has made was downgrading from the 3.06 processor to the 2.80. He was saying something about the wattage and how the 3.06 is only an 8% increase and how you do not see a noticeable upgrade until 10%. He said with my 280M I will be running everything quite fine. I hope I made the right choice.

When you say Donald from sager, do you mean Sager or the sager reseller PowerNotebooks?

This guy seems confused, sager won't do a 280M in an 8662, and his sig claims a 9280, which doesn't have a 2.8GHz option...

What's wrong with having both 9280 and 8662? He simply could have made a mistake typing 280M that meant 260M...

    It's a simple understanding matter.

Or maybe he's saying that he already has a 280m and wants to put it in the np8662?

Congrats on your new system, washy212. Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before the UPS man delivers that beastly machine.

They are correct, even a 2.0 Ghz Core2Duo would be enough for really good gaming performance along with the GTX 260M at those resolutions. You also save on battery and heat output.
