    Hey everyone :)

Just ordered my NP9150 Special Edition from Xoticpc.com with the specs below :)

Been told around 14 days shipping, hope is comes sooner :) Can't wait been without a laptop for over a month and going crazy lol. Desktop is on the boat so can't use that right now.

Thanks for all the help i have had over the past couple of week from everyone on the forums, you really supplied me with a lot of great information and helped me decide on my final build.

And lastly, Thanks to Hutsady @ Xotic for being so patient and working with me this whole time :) cant wait to see how my skin turns out :)

No flame to Xotic, but I paid $1000 less for my laptop. Although I got the 7970m, no copper cooling upgrade, no IC diamond thermal compound, only 1 drive, and it's not a "special edition".

What gives it such a special designation anyway?

It's special because you get the 680m, 16gb of 1600mhz ram, IC compund, the network card upgrade all at a huge discount. You would pay a lot more for the standard np9150 with the same settings. It's $1719 with everything at "stock "

Haha, just as N1kkon point out, will all the upgrades that come stock on the SE it's about a $280 discount in total. Pretty sweet deal.

lol yeah all of my upgrades are worth over $1000 most likely the GPU alone is a $400 upgrade, just found out my screen might be on back order though (wasn't when i ordered it) :( which will not be happy about if its the case as the 95%screen will be great for my Adobe work ...

Hoping they can figure this out. they are working closely with me through the process.

    Good for you OP!

With any technology purchase, there is ALWAYS a better price, a better deal, more freebies, etc. What matters at the end of the day (according to my old econ professor) is the happiness utlitization factor of the dollars spent. So if you end up enjoying your new rig for a few years (which you will!) even if someone paid half of what you did, it only amounts to a dollar or less a day. Basically a cup of coffee or enough to feed one of Sally Struther's kids. Enjoy your new machine.

The skin will take the longest part but should still be pretty quick, the longer part of phase 3 is just shipping from Sager to us.

Great! Now post a reply in this thread to get Lucid Logix MVP Mobile from Sager for your machine. This supposedly improves the performance of your machine by 20%. You don't know what it is? Do you really need to know the difference? Better battery life and better gaming performance? Yeah, google or research if you want, but post a reply. Sign the petition.

20% would suggest the intel IGP is 1/5th the speed of the 680M which has me... doubtful.

I looked at some of the numbers you posted with the 660M (384 shader part) and you expect it to give the same percentage increase with the 680M (1344 shader part)?

I think this could be very interesting for the next generation though with the next generation intel part.

I don't know, but I'd like whatever performance I can get. I think anyone who has switchable graphics with Optimus or Enduro can agree, this Muxless Switchable Graphics tech is not all that it claims to be.

I use an optimus based system and the only issue I have had is my 800FPS benchmark run in 3dmark's first test got capped by the PCI-E bus lol.

    New Topic...

I'm trying to get everything i need in order to get this laptop up and running smoothly together now so when it gets here I will have everything ready.

Should I use the drivers from this page:

    NP9150 Software Upgrade

Or are newer/better ones i should be using? Also what is the latest BIOS I should be running for Windows 8 support and the GPU Fan to work correctly when needed?

Any other info anyone can link me to would be greatly appreciated.

Just trying to get all my ducks in a row so I can get it up and running ASAP when it arrives.

    Thanks in advance :)

I kinda wanted to see if i could get it all in one place hence the reason for asking, I took a look and that helped but still would be nice to get peoples input it what they used and why rather then just going with what a post says.

    Thank you

Dont worry man, fell free to ask all the questions you have, thats the reason you started this thread right. If someone doesn't want to help, dont let him get to you.
You'll get a drivers disc but if any do need to be updated they will post them there. Besides that you can try any updated video card drivers from Nvidia.

After just under a month my Laptop is finally on its way to my hands :)

    Signature Required
    Scheduled Delivery: 08-March-2013

Had a couple of problems with things not being in stock but got over them and don't blame Xoticpc for that at all.

Thanks Hutsday for being a trooper through this process.

I will most likely write up a small review when i receive the laptop when i have time.
