I just ordered the Clevo M570U-A. I am doing a lot of prep work before I get the unit, and have a question about DVI.

I will be using the DVI port to connect it to my Samsung DLP TV. The inputs on my TV are DVI-D (digital), and a VGA input.

The Clevo has a DVI-I output (which will handle digital, analog, or both). Also, the Clevo comes with a DVI to VGA adapter. This will give me the options of plugging the laptop into either my DVI input, or my VGA input of my TV. I am fortunate, as some TV owners do not have both inputs, so I have a little more wiggle room when it comes to getting it tweaked. I will eventually be running the program powerstip, which will allow me to adjust resolutions etc...I am looking for perfect 1:1 pixel mapping.

My brain feels a little hard-boiled, so I need some clarification on the cable I need. It seems that a DVI-D cable should work just fine, when passing a digital signal only. In other words, I should not need to worry about any fitting issues when using a DVI-D cable being plugged into the laptop. Correct?

I am using this link http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/dvi/index.htm for the basis of my theory.

    Thanks! Phew! :D

just use the DVI, its the best option for you to connect to an external display.

Yes, I am wanting to use the DVI. I am just wanting to make sure I have the correct cable...DVI-D to DVI-D.

DVI cable have become really standard, you should not have a problem getting the "correct" DVI to DVI cable.

The cables may be common, but not standard. There are a multitude of options DVI-D, DVI-D, DVI-A, Dual Link etc...Getting the right cable is harder than one might think. :)
