Just received my brand new Sager 9155. The lightbleed on the screen is absolutely horrid.

Dunno about that model, but if it's anything like a normal Sager, it shouldn't be that hard to put some electrical tape around the screen. That'll get rid of the bleed.

Do you mean around the edges to tighten it up? While that might work it'll make the laptop look like a hunk of junk that's falling a part. Not really what I want my clients to see nor my self.

Well the bezel should be covering the edges of the screen. I think the bezel should hide the tape. Don't take my word for it though, I'm not an expert in these things

Huh? Are you telling someone with a freshly unboxed laptop to disassemble the screen panel to fix something?

OP complain to reseller, if that pic is genuine bleed (and not TN viewing angle contrast shift or camera artifacting) that's horrendous.

Yes, that does look bad enough to warrant an RMA.

This particular type of backlight bleed is caused by the bezel being clipped on too tight. If you'd remove the bezel most of it will vanish at once. A bit of sanding the inner edge, where it touches the screen's front, will remedy that.

The tape trick mentioned by @StormFalcon is meant to solve a poorly sealed lcd-backlight. Removing the lcd from the display lid and powering it will instantly show where more tape is needed, if any (they're all taped at the factory). Most often it's the corners that could use this mod, since it's inherently tricky to tape over corners.
