Just wanted to come here and rant/vent some so don't mind me and no need to respond really...

Anyway few months back I paid for 8150 (specs in sig).

It came and some of you may remember I posted about wifi card not working stable and GPU making a buzzing/hiss type sound under load.

So I notified reseller right away who contacted sager.

Sager agreed to send me replacement GPU and wifi card (as I have exp in laptop repair/building and desktop ect..).

So I have not touched the laptop as didn't feel good using it with bad parts that may cause other issues (even though thats slim and rare). Well 2-3 weeks later parts finally come (yea weeks because sager didn't want to doa it or pull a gpu from another laptop).

Anyway got parts today and no new heatsink as was told would get. GPU and wifi card are in this small box with bubble wrap (which has static btw) and they are not even in the anti-static bad because they failed to tape the bag shut so during shipping they came out and just bangging against eachother im sure.

So I decide I will turn laptop on for first time in a month to just uninstall GPU/Wifi drivers before I swap them to try to avoid any issue with device ID ect.. Well laptop no post, just black screen, green power light and fans on low.

I figure Ok, GPU took a crap for real I guess. So remove battery, swap parts put together only to be greeted with same thing. Tried cmos clear, remove cpu/mem and put back all no change.

So $2700 and 3 months later still have nothing to show for it...

Now I get to send the parts sager sent me back AND send the entire laptop back. My hopes are they will just DOA the damn thing and send me a new one as I lost faith in it but I doubt that will happen.

Oh and my screen did have red ghosting issue too but I didn't get to mess with it much because wanted to wait for other parts to be swapped.

So all in all my exp with sager has been very very poor. Reseller replys fast but its outside the hands of them so can't be mad at them but boy am I just over it...

Anyway sorry to waste your time reading this. Just wanted to rant.

Really sorry to hear that man, I hope that you can get everything resolved and a working laptop again. Barring that, then I would try to push for a refund and get my money back.

I am very surprised and actually can't believe that they agreed to send you a replacement GPU without request the dead GPU or the entire laptop back in the first place.

A 580M is worth $800 and you potentially have two now that might work if the issue has been caused by something else.

You should not have been dealing directly with Sager. Your reseller should have accepted a refund, laptop return and dealt with the GPU return/repair. Never deal with Sager as a customer, you don't get the same service as with a reseller.

Nope, but it doesn't sound like he wants to drag his reseller into it for no good reason.

Ditto. Couldn't this be an area where the reseller could do a bit more? Lean on sager? Repair in warranty?

Yeah, that was my first thought as well. I'd be pretty upset myself if that happened to me as described here.

    I can definately sympathize...

My EON 17-s (same as an 8170) is currently at Origin due to a very similar non-post. Frustraiting to say the least.

I left Alienware to get away from these types of crazy problems and now I'm kindof right back where I started. Hopefully they can get your issue ironed out quickly.

I did go through my reseller but for warranty things Sager resellers really just contact sager on behalf of you because in the end thats who works on them and has the parts.

So a reseller cant really do much. I am outside return period also from waiting on sager but dont want to return and eat shipping costs to order again anyway. This really should have just been a DOA and sager send a new one.

Laptop was sent to me direct from sager but ordered through reseller.

As for them sending me a GPU it was because I gave a credit card for deposit.

Also the 580M does not cost $800 sager said if I didn't send back I would be charged just under $600. I think like $575 or something close to that.

Who is your reseller? I would think the reseller leaning on Sager is better than you leaning on them. That's what they're for, and why wending buy direct from Sager. The resellers add value (supposedly).

I hope it works out for you.

My reseller has been leaning on Sager but Sager does not seem to care so much.

They setup a new RMA and now my entire laptop is gone. Sent back today and Sager just wants to rip it apart and replace most of the parts and send it back again.

I am fighting for an entire new build/replacement laptop and reseller is going to try to push one more time for me I think.

All in all, I like clevo products and while most of the Sager resellers are great, Sager seems to have gotten so big and fat pocket happy that the CS is going down hill.

Gosh forbid you ever call and speak to them direct, thats a mess on its own. I def recomment using resellers but its just sad. A great product ruined by another company.

I wish Clevo was in the US and sold directly.

Oh well cant do nothing now but wait and hope for the best. 2+ months after dropping almost 3k and still nothing to show. I got to have the laptop on a whole 2 days of owning it and those two days was reinstalling windows and troubleshooting hardware issues. What good is a return period or claiming to have a DOA warranty if they make you wait till its up and than say they dont want to DOA it they want to rip apart and rebuild.

One thing is for sure, had I paid with credit card I would feel bad for the reseller because I would be doing a charge back and sending it back. Crappy part on that is not resellers fault. But no biggie on that, I paid with cash discount so lost any protection left lol

Credit cards are good for that, plus the extension on warranty. A chargeback would only hurt your reseller - not Sager.

You can always file a complaint with the BBB against Sager (don't know if they care) or with your state AG if you're in the US.

Yea, and I dont want to hurt resller as like I said its not them so in the grand view of things I am glad I didn't use CC as it wouldn't be fair to them.

Anyway BBB means nothing to most companies. They have no pull or say in anything, its just a record keeping company lol. State AG is a joke, that stuff never goes anywhere or does anything unless a few thousand people are doing so.

I have accepted my ty luck and will just hope for the best and that sager will step up and do whats right. They get my lappy Wed.

For those that care my reseller is XOTIP PC and I originally didin't want to post the name of them to keep them out of it but to be honest they have really been great and trying for me so I want people to know that.
