Keep getting Black Screen of Death on my new W230ST with a Ubuntu 13.10 Live USB. If appears to be VGA problem. I can get TTY 1-6 working with nomodeset, but X on TTY 7 is always black. Tried different vga= settings with no progress.

The last entries on the boot log are:
    Code:
init: udev-failback-graphics main process (2502) terminated with status 1
init: lightdm main process (1806) terminated with status 1
init: plymouth-ready (startup) main process (955) terminated with status 1
init: failsafe-x main process (2532) terminated with status 1

Another Ubuntu 13.04 USB runs fine on this machine. I also have Debian Jessie and Windows 8 Pro installed on the hard drive, both of which work.

    Any ideas?
