Keep certain components of CCC while removing the rest.

So, here's the deal guys and gals.

I would like to completely rid myself of Clevo Control Center, as I dislike redundancies now that I'm using the software from Obisidan. Unfortunately, the only software that will allow me to control the keyboard's per-key lighting on my PB70EF-G is LED Keyboard which is a part of CCC.

The Keyboard LED software is the only piece of CCC I would like to keep and use. I can control the fans and GPU OCing with other software now. The rest of CCC can go the way of the dodo bird. But, I just can't figure out how to keep only LED Keyboard while removing the rest of CCC that I don't want.

I've tried uninstalling CCC completely and then installing the LED Keyboard app from the Microsoft Store, but it gave me an error upon trying to run it and wouldn't open. An error that for the life of me I should have copied down or remembered, but unfortunately I did not.

I've now begun to explore the registry as a possible way of preventing these programs from running, but I'm not an expert when it comes to editing the registry. All the edits I've ever made in the past have come from others who taught me where to go within the registry and what to edit to solve whatever problem I had.

Can anyone out there help me out? What do I do to achieve what I want?

 

Welp, never mind everyone.

I took a bold leap and did searches within the registry for the exact program names (ie. GPUOverclocking and FlexiKey) and pretty much deleted most entries I found that contained information. After doing this, none of the programs I was looking to remove function any longer through the CCC panel menu.

Not so fast.

I still have the Power Modes aspect of CCC active and I want to remove that as well. I'm not finding any mention of it within the registry.

Any thoughts?

 

I installed MSI Afterburner and overclocked/undervolted my GPU.

But, with CCC set to any Power Mode selection other than Power Saving is causing the GPU to run at maximum clocks and voltage at idle, which in turn causes temps to sit a little higher than normal. So basially, CCC is preventing Afterburner from managing the GPU properly.

How on earth do I disable the CCC Power Mode profiles completely?

There has got to be a way other than uninstalling CCC completely. Remember, I need to keep CCC installed because I need the LED Keyboard control it offers since I can't get it anywhere else. HINT! HINT! You listening Obsidian?

C'mon guys. I've had no replies at all. One of you "experts" out there must have some idea on how to assist me.

 

Well for one, no one who sees themselves as an "expert" actually bothers with CCC It's a bloated piece of software that can barely do one thing right. As for GPU running hot, locking the voltage in Afterburner will force the card to run the set volt/freq curve, which is why you can't force CCC power modes to override it. And Obsidians Keyboardled is free and should work on your machine, if you only care about the unicorn puke effects.

 

I understand that. I've seen numerous posts over time suggesting people to get rid of CCC.

I only use it because I have a per-key LED keyboard. The Obsidian program doesn't work on those. Only the type with the three zone lighting.

 

Does it store last configured LED settings without the need to run the program? Otherwise you could set your custom keys, uninstall CCC and still have them light up.

 

I've uninstalled the LED software before and as soon as you do, your settings disappear and the keyboard is reset to some sort of moving rainbow effect, which I hate.
