So I've read and heard many things about taking the battery out when it is charged so that it'll last longer. Does this also apply to sager/clevo laptops?

I just happen to have the 20" Sager NP5960/Clevo M590KE laptop and it is a pain to remove the battery. You have to flip over this 15 pound 20 inch laptop and remove the battery, which is in the corner of the laptop. Then when you put it back on the table, it becomes unbalanced cause 1 corner is missing now so I gotta stick something in to fill the gap.

So to sum it all up, is it worth it to take out the battery when it is charged? Will it make that much of a difference?

To keep your battery healthy you need to make sure to fully discharge/charge your battery at least once per month. If you don't want to do this then do a full charge/discharge cycle and then bring the battery back up to 50%. Store it in a cool dry place and try to bring it out to fully charge discharge then bring back to 50% at least every few months.

I find it easier to just charge it and discharge it a few times each month.

    WU Jen,

When you say "Full Discharge" do you mean until the notebook shuts off or to the 10%-3% warnings set in the power options?

Currently, I just charge the battery, then use the battery till about 8%. Back and forth all day long. I have my notebook in my service vehicle and use it all day long. So I do many cycles of this per day. Any harm from this?

    Thank you,
    Monnie

That sounds right. You should be fine, I have been doing that for over a year now, the charge is as good as when I got it.

That's the proper way to use recharable batteries actually. Fully charge them, then use them it runs low, fully recharge. So on and so forth.
