Got a replacement keyboard for my W370ST , in the back of it came with a thin plastic cover that does not seem it should be taken off over the metal part while the original one had only the usual metal part in the back. In one hand it works as a debris protection for any small particle that goes down between keys, on another prevent some small heat evacuation via keyboard. Any idea if that back cover is now common for keyboards?

Check the image to see the back cover(not same Clevo model): [IMG]

It can vary by revision, I would not worry about it unless your temps have spiked.

Little to no heat should be transferred to the top via the keyboard, it's not really known to act as a passive cooling device. Your temps should be pretty much identical with it.
