To all who's experiencing the keyboard spacebar problem, I hope this helps.

Here are the instructions given to me by RJTech to solve the keyboard spacebar problem and it definitely works. At first, RJTech's vendor sent them a new modified spacebar key that was said to fix the problem but after some testing by the technical support team of RJTech, they found out that the results were the same with the old and new spacebar key. There was another solution, here's the message from them:

    "Here is the instruction:

    1. Check the diff.jpg image, the upper one is old key, the difference is in the center, new one using a different object. Personally I don't think it make much difference but they said it works.
    2. Check on the video clip on YouTube - open1.AVI to take out the key.
    3. This is the important part, please check on the video clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4bqGueZ7qU. Use a flat screw driver or similar tool, press the location indicated in the clip, make sure you flat out any crooked part which might prevent the key to press down.
    4. This is important also, when you put the key back, in the key, there are two tiny metal bars, please check keyin1.JPG, you need to put the first bar in this position, then put the 2nd bar through the little hole as shown in keyin2.JPG (in keyin2.jpg, I didn't put the first bar in place because the camera angle, but you need to put both bar in position before snap in the key back to the keyboard). Please check the keyin3.jpg, if you put both bars in position, then the maximum angle you can open is like it shown in keyin3.jpg.
    5. Please check the video clip at YouTube - close.AVI , it shows you how to put back the key, please check the step 4 as well, make sure two metal bar are in correct position, both bar's end should all go through some holes, this is important.

After I try step2 to step5, the problem goes away immediately. So please try the step2 to step5, it should fix your problem. I don't think the new key make any difference because I try both, and both are working fine. The major thing is the step 3 and step 4, specially the step4, if you do not put the 2nd bar through the hole, then the problem shows up."

I've attached the pictures that they've sent me. Take note that step4 is the crucial step since most of the time when putting back the spacebar (at least what I did) I only tucked in the first metal clip and didn't care about the second metal clip since I thought it would go through that hole by itself, I guess I was wrong.

Please try this and post your results, it definitely fixed my spacebar problem.

    WOW KEVIN
I just read through your post and did exactly what you said, and IT WORKED!!!!
THE SPACEBAR IS WORKING 100% PERFECLTY NOW!!
when i first took off the spacebar, i noticed the 2 metal bars as well and kept wondering if it was supposed to go in those 2 holes.
I think the key here is "flattening" those 2 black regions you indicated in your video.
I can't believe the problem is gone!!

Thank you SO much! This has solved the most annoying issue i had with this laptop :D

    +REP!

No prob mate :) We sure had the same expression when I tried the fix, lol.

Now, that's really good customer service support from RJTech. They sure know how their products are working.

yeah i totally agree. Seems like RJtech really put in the time and effort to help find a solution to the problem.

I ordered mine from XoticPC and they directed me to Sager warranty for parts. But im just happy we finally found a solution to this!

Many thanks Kevin, I did try this and it didnt work. after putting some 2-3 mm tape under the spacebar it was okay.

Now I removed the tape and pressed the pieces down a bit more, you can do this even without removing the spacebar, and now it works as it should.

    Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not sure what you did. So you're saying that you just added the tape and removed and it is now working?

okay, i was having this problem, what i did was this:

put some sticky tape on the under side of the space bar, such that it is centred over the little which rubber blob (which is actually the space bar)
this causes the space bar to be raised up and makes it more sensitive.

this still did not fix my problem (as i mostly use the very left of the space bar for gaming). So on the very left and right under the space bar i also added a few pieces of tape between the plastic of the space bar and the metal rods. This has the effect of raising the outsides of the space bar such that it can be depressed more.

Now i can type properly without words being munged together :D
