Got the latest Hotkey and windows8 drivers from Sager installed on my NP9170 (which happens to have SteelSeries keyboard, but I don't think that's relevant here). Also have the Intel Advanced-N 6235 (with Bluetooth) as my network card.

Was researching the remapping between the keyboards (the SteelSeries has different painted-on images than the Sager default which is still applying, so I'm trying to learn the discrepancies) when I noticed that the orange BLUETOOTH LED is constantly on (and I don't think it was doing that prior to the BIOS and Hotkey updates). This is despite powering off via toggle the Bluetooth power both via the control center (FnEsc) and via the combination FnF12.

Note that the WinLogo and Fn keys are now reversed with the latest updates as above. Just mentioning that though it is already known to help spread the word so that there is less confusion for anyone wishing to explore for themselves.

And I am unsure if the FnPowerButton works as intended. It is SUPPOSED to toggle power to the USB 3.0 port for purposes of charging other devices while the laptop is plugged in. I haven't tested whether the power is flowing to the USB port while this happen, but pressing the combo FnPowerButton turns the laptop instantly off (once again, I am not sure if the USB Power is still active on the 3.0 port).

Just wondering if anyone else having the same issues.

Note under Device Manager, I have under the Bluetooth heading:
-Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + High Speed Adapter (driver v 2.6.23.40059)(under Power Management tab, box to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" IS checked).
-Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator (driver version 6.2.9200.16420).
-Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator (driver version 6.2.900.16384).

    Thanks for any insight!

My bluetooth light also stayed on initially on my MSI, but when I installed the latest drivers that went away so they should get round to fixing that for you.

As for the hotkeys the steelseries are programmed in the keyboard itself I believe and they are not too fussed about releasing a re programmer (infact I the impression I get are MSI are discouraging them from doing so).

Yeah it will be a small firmware/software bug in the system itself.

Yeah, I think it was Derek from Xotic who had written something about hoping for a SteelSeries keyboard remap utility by year's end, but that there was some exclusivity deal with MSI for that keyboard which might disrupt that.

In any event, a member named gaidin made a keyboard script that PARTIALLY addresses the inconsistencies between the painted images of the SS keyboard vs. the Sager/Clevo functions. See thread:

Thanks for confirming the bizarre BT light staying on.

Old thread to bump but I'm having the same problem with the bluetooth light. It only happens when I have OS(in bios) set to Windows 8. If it's set to 'Other' it turns on and off as it should. Has anyone found a solution?

This is not a bug. And this is connected with some features (?) Windows 8 and Bluetooth. And it should be. IMHO.

    P.S. I'm still under win7.

So, nothing can turn off that BT Led yet.

Not a bug but a feature eh? Interesting stance.
