Installing new keyboard and the connector into which the ribbon inserts broke in half using fingernails.

When fitted together and with ribbon properly inserted as best I can tell with magnifying glass still >> no function.

Is this going to be a MB replacement or is a repair possible?

Looks much like the attached image copied from elsewhere.

    hello !
Welcome on the forum ! I know you are new here , but there are some strange rules in this forum !

First , you can say "Hi" , i know it's weird, but you will have to get used to it !
Then you can say "thank you for your help" ," you are an awsome community", or something like that !
Yup, this forum is meant to help each others, but we are not at your service !, you can't just go in , ask your question, then leave when you have your response !

then , about you connector, a photo might help a bit , but i think you will have to replace MB , i suggest you to buy a cheap USB keaboard.

    Hi E

Thank you. You are quite right, and I sincerely apologize. You are also right about replacement and I've returned the computer for a new motherboard.

Unfortunately I did not find this link until it was too late but for those with a similar problem it might offer a solution. If I'd only found it sooner. How to fix broken keyboard connector - Laptop Repair 101
