Kobalt Quality

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you know if Kobalt (same like clevo) offers good quality?
Those laptops are way cheaper than alienware, and offer a 0 dead pixel warranty, thats why i'm interested in them.

It all depends how their new line up will look like, and how it will compare to the asus g73jh.

Edit: I'm especially interested in their european (outside the uk) customer service.

 

you should check in the sager/clevo thread, there are some people who already have expierence on working with kobalt, but from what I see they are a great company.

Kobalt provide a far superior level of customer service to any other UK system builder - they use the best components and provide fantastic, personal support. I'm a member of their forum ( www.kobaltcomputers.co.uk/forum) and there is a good deal of people, such as yourself, who reside outsite the UK who have bought front them and are very satisfied with their european service.

 

you should ask a mod to move this thread to the sager/clevo forum, seeing how kobalt isn't a manufacturer, just a clevo reseller. i think there are some people from the uk whos had experience with kobalt over there.
why don't you look at some resellers in mainland europe?

 

I don't have any experience with Kobalt, but I've suggested them to a few people in the UK who were looking for Sagar's and they seemed to have had only very good experiences - I'd recommend you contact Kobalt directly if you have questions e.g. about European service

 

I recommend them highly. Purchased my G860 from them, and it's built very well, and the Kobalt team are very helpful

 

imo the best you will find in the uk which also covers european warranty.

IMO there are only 3-4 excellent Clevo resellers in EU and Kobalt is without doubt one of them.

posting this in the clevo thread most prob wont get many replys but try using Fn & F10 keys to turn camera on. not sure if advent are same keys as clevo but worth a try.

 

Another vote of confidence in Kobalts' name. The managing director - Neil can often be found as a posting member of this board. Though he hasn't recently - 'Hey Neil - what happened to that offer with the M860 fans?..'

 

he will repy now as youve given him a promotion Neil is the technical director and Andrew is the managing director.
they had a problem with emails a while back Oiad so it might be worth sending it again as they are usually replied to within 24-48 hours max.

I highly recommend Kobalt, I have never dealt with any company with such good quality and excellent customer service.

I'm still waiting for the new models to be released in march, last time I spoke to a kobalt salesmen he said they would also offer cryo and zalman laptopcoolers soon, its been a few weeks by now, still no coolers :'(

 

Doubt they'll have the coolers up this soon but more likely when the new range of Clevos are unveiled - changing the site in one swoop. Got me curious to the likely price-tag though.

 

just cos they are not on the website doesnt mean they arent available. just ask
the website and ordering process will be updated soon so thats why ods & sods arent added to the site now.

 

definately buy from them, they are one of the best sager resellers in the WORLD.

They aren't a Sager reseller, they are a Clevo reseller, as are Sager.

 

Re the coolers, there are a number of us (including me) who have ordered them through Kobalt

Give em a call and ask about ordering one

 

Whoops...just realised I hadn't posted in here (guess my support in other threads confused me )
I'll repeat what so many others have said, for the largest part I'm very happy with the service I've had from Kobalt, and their willingness to discuss/compromise.
Aside laptops I've deal with for other people, Kobalt have been the best guys I've used for laptops (out of them, Dell/Alienware and Fujitsu-Siemens).

Would happily buy a new laptop from them again.
