As I understand, the Kobalt G150 is based on Clevo P150HM.

Does this mean that this shares the same keyboard too, as the Clevo, and that it is the same keyboard as the Sagers have?

I'm currently trying to find a laptop to suit my needs
and the options availabe on the Kobalt look enticing.

There's just one thing that worries me, and it is a deal breaker. It's the keyboard, and if the Kobalt shares the same keyboard as the Sagers I'm back at square one....

edit: sorry for the typo in the title. KOBALT G150. my current laptop has a terrible keyboard. see what i mean? :D

I probably got used to the keys after using my laptop for over 2 years that it doesn't even bother me ._. In fact, I never even notice much difference between my old Acer Aspire's keyboard and this one :x

like most computer problems and dislikes you always see people that dont like something or other visiting forums. the other thing is backlit keyboards (or the lack of) that are also moaned about.
but for the thousands and thousands that have been sold around the world the happy customers dont need to visit forums to vent their anguish/anger so this is why you only have a one sided view.

the only way you will find praise of laptops or their resellers is if you visit the individual companys forums and read what happy customers have to say.

Well this is why I'm asking around. I have read one users view, and am currently browsing to find reviews of this exact product that tackle the keyboard quality.

I consider the keyboard a very important issue for me, thousands of others might not share my priorities. I can't just trust a mass of apparently happy customers if I cannot perceive a proper evaluation from them on the issue that I am the most worried about. I mean, it seems like according to you I shouldn't worry about the keyboard because "some people dig this laptop".

    Hence me posting here.

    totally understand.
ive got the older nexus with the older style keyboard so cant really comment.
i have tried our 3 GS710 and had no problems whatsoever and quite like the chicklet keyboard but im not 100% sure if its exactly the same keyboard or not.that model was discontinued a few months back and has now been replaced by the GS170
i will be able to tell you friday night as i will be having a play with all the models available during the day.

I use my G890 for work (90%) as well as bit of gaming and although I was a little bit worried about the chiclet style keys I have to say that once I got over the initial dislike (a day or so) I don't really notice it anymore. They are fine for typing IMO and my speed is pretty much as it was with my old keyboard. Perhaps a little slower but then it's more than made up by the blistering performance :)
