Hello all,
First time poster here. I have a question that hopefully someone here can help me with. Unfortunately I am using a lot of assumptions so they may be incorrect.
I have a Hypersonic Aviator CX7 laptop has a number of vertical lines on the display. I would like to replace the panel to correct this issue. From what I understand the Aviator CX7 is a Clevo M570U which uses a Philips LG LP171WU1 monitor. Specifically the one I have is the 1920x1200 "VividView" glossy.
Now on doing research there appears to be a problem with this specific model number from Philips LG and a lot of people are complaining about vertical lines forming after 18-24 months (when mine occurred). I don't want to pony up a lot of money for the same thing to happen again in the future. So my questions are these.
1. Are they any reliable alternatives to this model? I am not at all a laptop guy so I am hesitant to buy a different 17 inch panel that is not compatible. I would like to replace it with a cheaper but decent one if possible.
2. ON looking at replacing the LP171WU1 monitor I see a lot of them have designations at the end such as A1 K4 etc. Should I be worried about these designations or are they meaningless for my purposes.
Thanks in advance,
Silky

imo maybe contact sager or clevo and see what they recc. sager told me they will sell replacement parts like the keyboard i think was like 50$, call them and tell them you have a 570ru and you need a new lcd and see how much it is. at lest you know you would get the right thing. they are using the lplf600 in almost all of them right now..this is the wuxga 1920 one. there are three lcd's going around but this seems to be the most popular being used right now..
