Hey all. Well I did some searching on forums and google and it seems the APP9C69 ID monitor corresponds to the LP171WU1 (LG monitor that is 190 cd/m2 http://www.lcds4less.com/lg_philips-laptop-lcd-screens/lp171wu1.shtml).

A few questions. Who has this monitor? What do you think about it in terms of brightness and colours?

Secondly, how does this laptop lcd and others in general compare to modern hp screens. It seems to me the hp screens are much brighter (I have a 5793 with the above screen ID sitting next to a DV7 and the DV7 is a lot brighter and whiter and its especially noticeable when I am on a white screen). Is this because HP laptops have 2 lamps or does the dv7 have an LED backlit screen? Please let me know.

    Thank you!

for sure if the hp has the dual lamp screen it will blow away the single one.

there are different versions of the wu1 panel. the "A4" versions are not nearly as nice as the "TL" ones are i have both and have used many of them. the a4 has the more glint like yellowish tint than the tl ones do. but the tl ones add brackets to them that have to be removed for use in the notebook you have.

imo the wu1 tl a2 version is among one of the nicest panels in ccfl i have seen out there. it tends to wash out just a bit faster at angles than a few others but overall the panel is awesome.. im not sure which you have without seeing the back of yours actual panel but i doubt its the tla2 version..

So, is there a way how one could stuff in a dual CCFL or LED backlight LCD panel into a M570RU-M570TU ?
