    hi guys

any idea when LED screen will come out on sagers?

i was thinking of getting an 8662 but ive read in the forums that the screens of sagers arent that great.
so now im holding out and waiting on the asus kb series or a new 8662 with an LED option.

i feel that the screen is probably the only thing holding back the sagers from being the best of the best...

    cheers

I can imagine they will use them soon. Since they are newer and better. Although, with the NP8660 refresh (to NP8662), which was somewhat recent, i wonder why they didnt switch it to LED....

You never know... But i can imagine they will use LED screens soon.

I would worship them if they can just use a brighter screen.

LED would be thinner, but will it weigh less? I'm guessing a tiny bit less.

i think it will weigh much less since you get rid of those flourescent tubes

Firstly, fluorescent tubes don't weigh much, secondly, there's only one in the screen, and thirdly, you're replacing the tube with lots of led's, so I don't think it'll make much difference weight wise.

    Oh, how about OLED?
I'm thinking THAT would be the bomb.

It seems really weird that a company like Clevo, who pride themselves on being at the top of the pack are depriving their laptops of the option for LED screens when so many people approve of them.

Maybe they know something we don't? As i'm guessing u can get 1650x1080 led screens so ye i don't see why not. Although apart from the brightness and 1 stuck pixel (only shows up on black) i cannot complain about mine, it is brilliant.

lots of old stock in ccfl screens would be my best guess and the companies left with those panels are blowing them out right now to the different vendors. i have most recently got 15.4" lg wsxga panels for under 80$ cost shipped they are getting really cheap.. led ones are much more money still
